hotford00 Posted November 22, 2008 Share Posted November 22, 2008 If memory serves the commer engine is basically the minx/super minx unit ie upright. The rapier engine was a slant engine and I think that it will physically fit the gearbox but the problem will be the inlet/exhaust manifolds not allowing the carb to sit level. also there maybe a problem with the crank bush( for the spigot shaft) check these before you try and put it in. 58classiccars Posted November 23, 2008 Author Share Posted November 23, 2008 hi all, we got the engine in but the sump wont let the engine sit on the mountings, we are going to try to cut the sump and reshape it.
