trigger
This weekend i went away to West Sussex for the Goodwood Revival, I've been wanting to do this for quite a few years now and back at Christmas Mrs Trigger shocked me by buying me a few weekend set of tickets! So fast forwards 9 months and here we are, the show didn't disappoint! It's honestly been one of the best weekends of my life and definitely the best car event I've ever been too, If a bit on the expensive side! I've took 900 photographs over the 3 days so I won't bore you with all of them, But expect plenty of photo from the though! Following this little Lotus in i knew that i was in for a good weekend. These are all from the classic car park, apparently 4500 cars were booked in, it was massive! This was even before you'd handed your ticket over to enter!. One thing i noticed, there was a large number of certain makes of cars you'd normally rarely see, BMW 02's being one. And Aston Martin DB5's being another. Tiger in the tank. There was a few Citroen SM's too. Slappy, Paul Dupart, gary_davidson and 9 others

RoadworkUK
I've been waiting for this thread ever since your less than successful quest for brake bits last week.... ....and I've not been disappointed. trigger
Excellent Trigs. I look forward to seeing more of your photos. I trust you were appropriately dressed? Hi Seth! Of course I was! Mrs Trigger got in on the act too. This looked worryingly fresh. Rare Tickford LR. RoadworkUK
That Landy camper was at Beaulieu the other day providing home comforts to a stallholder. And very homely it seemed, too. Every time somebody stepped out from within they seemed to have a beer in their fist.
trigger
So, that little lot was just from the classic car park on the Friday, next we have the area outside the gates. I like the Butlins marque, you could roller skate around or lounge in one of the deckchairs. C.H.I.P.S caught chatting to Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. This was meant to be a Mk3 Cortina?. Yours for £55. These tasteless LR's were shit. These were outside Bonhams, I wasn't paying £30 to go inside and look at the cars. Just some cool old bikes. I won't lie, I really liked this David Brown GT Speedback. HillmanImp, Junkman, anonymous user and 3 others
trigger
As a person who's easily impressed, I was impressed with the period 1960's Tesco's supermarket complete with food, most was for display only but you could buy crisps, Double Diamond beer and chocolate in their original packaging which was cool. This was smart. The fire tender was this well kitted out Accord Aerodeck. Inside the BMW hall were these two stunning cars. I can't remember the models mind you. anonymous user, Junkman, Jim Bergerac and 2 others
Tayne
What's the wee low-slung grey sports car on German plates near the top of the page? Also, pic 3 is a DB6 not a DB5. Excellent work otherwise though.
NorfolkNWeigh
Great pictures, that Humber on Minilites is all kinds of awesome. The blue Alfa on chrome wires not so much, just shows how wheels can make or break a car.I'm afraid I'm not as sold on the David Brown as you,but again a lot of my dislike is wheel based. Jim Bergerac
Cracking pics! Looks like a cracking event. Love the period Tesco too. IMG_1649.JPG Anybody know what this is?
trigger
Next was the Earls Court motor show which was basically a mock up of the 1960's hall full of some amazing cars. First was the latest Discovery/Freelander replacement. Then the very last "proper" Range Rover, it still has under 3000 miles on the clock. Along with the first Land Rover. This Tatra was in front. The latest Mustang. and the latest Focus. A new Vauxhall called the Cascada? At the end you was asked to pick your favorite car. Naturally i choose the Rover SD1. trigger
What's the wee low-slung grey sports car on German plates near the top of the page? Is it a Simca? To be honest I didn't know. Also, pic 3 is a DB6 not a DB5. I always get muddled on these fancy cars! Anybody know what this is? It's a 1961 Tornado Tempest. http://www.anglia-models.co.uk/specials-tempest.htm Jim Bergerac
mercrocker
Blue French sports job is a Dyna Panhard Junior. BMWs are 501 cabrio and a 502 saloon. Some epic stuff at Gooders as usual I see. Couldn't make it this year but to be honest I am finding it bloody expensive these days and all the trade stuff winds me up. However, seeing your pics reminds me of what I am missing. Might just go and look around the car park next year!
trigger
So, out of the hall, pass this two young ladies... get over taken by a passing Jag XK. and these classic pinball machines. and on to the plane field, I didn't take many photos here or spend much time as I didn't really know what i was looking at. By this point i lost interest and spotted the paddock area. This 1955 Mercedes 300SL was being driven by some German chap called Jochen Mass, He seems like a right fanny magnet as there was always girls around him. On the other hand the chubby chap here with no girls around him was some chef called James Martin. This was Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. trigger
Might just go and look around the car park next year! If i lived locally I'd go just for the outside bit, you don't have to pay and it's bloody epic on it's own without paying for the middle bit. trigger
Nearly there with day 1 you'll be glad to hear! This chap was selling cigars from a pram, class. They were running a classic car taxi service for the wealthy where they run them from the hotel and to where they have dinner. And this is just the end of day 1! trigger
It's just clicked, the badge is the VW Wolfsburg badge so it must be Beetle based. the windscreen was badly bonded in too and it was missing it's wipers.
trigger
Right, it's a late 60's Fiberfap Bonanza GT based on a VW Type 3 chassis, thanks to Spiny Norman. http://www.kaeferblog.com/bonanza-gt
Spiny Norman
So that'll be the Fiberfab Bonanza GT then? Edit: HA! Beaten to the draw again! Great pics Trig. That Tatra just made me come over all discombobulated.... trigger
Junkman
BMWs are 501 cabrio and a 502 saloon.503 Cabrio. 501 was a saloon, too and you can't tell it apart from a 502, until you pop the bonnet.
Junkman
Here is the Fiberfab Bonanza GT at a meeting in Germany, shortly after the restoration was completed: It was a total basket case when found. Currently, a Porsche 914 engine converted to carburetters is installed. anonymous user, brickwall, trigger and 1 other

Partridge
Great stuff, thanks for sharing! I saw that green Celica near the top of this thread on the way there. Sadly I was driving and couldn't snap it.On the Sunday night I drove from Fareham to Littlehampton and had great fun classic spotting on the way back. But my God were the RAC having a roaring trade...
Vin
Brilliant stuff Trig. Always fancied the Revival. Only ever been to the FoS, but that was ten years ago... That Tesco looked pretty smart. I'd read about that, as the Tesco Albion delivery wagon was the cover star and main feature of the recent 'Classic & Vintage Commercials'...it was done especially for the Revival and built up off an old bus chassis and was done in seven weeks
