I had a passat with that 110 afn engine in and its gr17, they can do a proper 55mpg easy, mine was on 190 odd thousand, i did about 60k in it and was ace, just give it some every now and then to keep them pesky vnt vanes free and it will never die!

Yup, its currently costing me 6 pence/mile whilst paying 80p/litre for veg, you can't get much cheaper than that

I've already got two So I can't find room for another but it does look a nice car and being an earlier one at least you won't have the dreaded pixel display problems which affects the later B5

Ma_KJ had a 2.5 TDI Quattro one of these for many years, she loved it. It gobbled rear tyres though.

This is now sold, well sort of, I can't make up my mind but I have a firm offer if I decide to sell it, being northern and tight 150 miles for less than a tenner is telling me to keep it.
