Hertz
How does JC have the nerve to lavish attention on a Renault Alpine after he single handedly destroyed that lovely A610?? What a peach Think that is a guy's from the Renault Alpine Forum. Yes clarkson is a tw$t for smashing up that 610, less than 50 RHD now left
mk2_craig
It's rapidly getting to the stage where I'm taking photos quicker than I can upload them, this should mean I only stick to the real standout stuff but on the other hand I'm going to exhaust the shite stock on a 45 square mile island sooner or later, unless I give up my civil servant job and become a postman or something. Morris-badged Mini Moke. Quite an old one. Out of use for most of this century. Fine, but... ...how the frig did it get in there? Usually ignore an old Landy just as I would most MGBs, Minors, Beetles etc. But this is just about the right balance Photo-d this at the tail end of winter, however we're now well into classic season and I'm sick o' the sight of these things now. The AWD flatbed looks clean from here, I somehow suspect that it was making its final journey. These sold quite well in Jersey. Have I posted this before? Or maybe there's just a lot of white ones on the island. Wotevah. Russian 4x4 nonsense Fair few of these kicking about. This one looked to be pretty tired Unusually long-lived for one of these I think this is Mistral Blue, it would be nice to know for sure cos my Fiesta's this colour and the paint shop couldn't get anywhere near the shade when I gave them the code on the VIN tag Not a clue! Nice DS, dunno where it's from though? Definitely the shabbiest Sierra Cosworth I've clocked that hasn't gone backwards through a tyre wall on a track day. Cannibalised 70s saloon challenge Mk2 XR2 corner, tidy. I owned red J76102 in 1996! Bought it off a lass who had stuffed it into a wall while trying to avoid a goose in the road. Result: car bent, bird dead, lass out of pocket by about 3 grand, Craig in receipt of superb 39k mile drivetrain that promptly got lobbed into an early mk3 1.1 Ghia. shite_meister
Yep Ibuleve that Citroen DS is South-African, as with most of Craig's posts I have had the pleasure of having either worked on or driven most of the crocks of shit in his pics including that DS. The garage I worked at serviced that DS, lovely car in amazing condition and without doubt the most comfortable seat I have ever sat on-highly recommended. Owner Is minted from memory and has owned for a few years so tut-tut at not re-registering it etc etc.
ChinaTom
Difficult to tell with photos, but that may be "ceramic blue" - popular with base III's. There were always 3 rows of ceramic in the paint racks in Halfords.
mk2_craig
80s bilge night 2nite I think. N-JOI Someone had tried to make a mk3 Escort van turbo estate thing here, I bet there's not more than 1118cc of throbbing OHV power behind all that filler'n'fibreglass. Different flavour of Escort, possibly the only one on the island Rare now these things. My family had two, both SGL not Anniversary so no leccy goodies for the young Mk2_Craig to play with Honda's answer to the Prairie And Toymotor's answer to the Shuttle Dog-ruff Daihatsu (groan) Tatty Transit seemingly painted in emulsion Buggered Justy Tidyish Metro Yeah so it's outa focus, a quick early morning shot cos the dented driver's door convinced me that if I didn't take the photo the car would die and I'd have missed my chance, however this was some weeks ago and I saw it on the road again today. Some American thing. Not many Sciroccos here, I think they were rated as a good beach banger racer so most of them have been smashed to bits by now. How about this early 21 Savanna, few and far between these days. Bikeshite? Turquoise Fiesta Festival (tatty) and CPTC

Rocket88
Chrysler Le Baron [which I owned in the dim and distant]...............as piles of shite go, it was enormous. Body flex, scuttle shake, water leaks, [in all three compartments [boot, sorry trunk/under bonnet/hood, and the cabin] cv joints like castanets, the list goes on....plus the most gutless 2.5 4 pot in existence...sold it for £900, and breathed a large sigh of relief. Nice diamond style alloys Bluebird estate (Not a lot of Bluebirds over here, actually but Leicester was crawling with them so I've kinda gone from one extreme to the other.) And just to contradict myself, here's a hatch in this triple shite spot American people shed. Shafted TK Quite a fair few of these mid 1980s Civics still on the go These though are scarce, only one I've seen Dammit! Top marks for numberplate alignment skills. A CF having a tasty afternoon. MrRegieRitmo
American people shed.Believe this is a MkI Chrysler Voyager / Plymouth Voyager / Dodge Caravan, the likes of which wasn't actually sold over here, some just ended up over here, like the early Cherokees. By the mid 90s Chrysler was selling directly to us with their Neons, Voyagers, Cherokees & Wrangler Jeeps & they've never looked back since, even if we do! mk2_craig
I believe that at one stage you could import a secondhand vehicle to Jersey without the need for it to be inspected, there was all sorts of stuff used to get brought in such as type approval testbeds, US/Jap spec motors etc. At least in the UK you needed an MOT first where things like the wrong headlamps would get picked up on. All been tightened up now mind - in fact it's gone the other way and you need an SVA-type test for anything non-type approved up to 25 years old (anything over 10yrs old in the UK doesn't require SVA)

Richard
I imagine the profit margin is massive on Mr Whippy type ice cream, although the costs involved in licensing, complying with regulations and keeping the van on the road must be pretty high.I once tried to work out the true cost of the post mix fizzy drinks you get in pubs. I can't remember the figure I came up with but they make a healthy profit on them.
mk2_craig
Nothing much of interest. OR IS THERE?? I think this is the only 200-series saloon I've seen this year. 505 GTD turbo in the company of a Mini automatic posted on this thread about a year back. A371 GROT Delta looking grim. Faded and bumped Golf Browner than that brown Fiat 126 Brown wot someone seen recently. Another Clubman estate, seen quite a few of these locally Early Escort ragtop with added Duck tape Clean old rebadged Honda Rare French turbocharged saloonness On second glance I think this Pony is US spec. Something big and bargey Ageing Landbruiser DRIFT etc. Multiculla Mk2, think this belonged to the granpa of a friend when it was new. Oddly enough there was a rasta livery XR2 knocking about a few years back, a mate's bro had that before its respray, not seen it lately and wonder as to what its fate was for we've established cars in wacky colour schemes tend not to live for too much longer. Split_Pin
I'm really liking the spots of the non XR3i Mk3 Escort Cabrios I also like the original dealer sticker in the back window of the Nova. My bet is that on the mainland someone would have a Redtop engine and banded the steelies on it before very long. Were Vauxhall one of the last manufacturers to offer brown coloured cars? Gompo
That 505 is stunning, looks so clean on it's mint looking steel wheels. Worth a few bob I reckon, wonder what mileage it's on..Great pics anyway, cheers.

Save for spoogey rims, looks quite good Proton, interesting comparison with the next pic Recent talk about pre-facelift Colts - it had never dawned on me that any facelift of this model had ever taken place. Turns out I photographed an early one with the long side repeaters a coupla months back Nice Renner 21 hatch, automatic IIRC. Motorcycleshite (while I can read the badging on this one other shiters will have to complete the captions on the bikes I've previously photographed for my PTW recognition skills are non-existent) Pov spec Metro, shame I couldn't photograph the front end in all its recessed-headlamp glory Cortina coop 2-tone J-tin Boring tale warning: Kept passing a tidy silver Accord saloon (still with original wheeltrimz) and wondering to myself how long it had left. One day a black Vento appears in the parking space, Accord's whereabouts unknown. Hence why I photographed this one when I saw it, might not have bothered otherwise Escort mkIII saloon Have already mentioned that I tend to ignore even elderly-looking 205s (you can't tell the age of them from the plate over here of course), but I loved the combo of ageing automatic French hatchback and crap house Heyyy, we haven't had a Fiesta mkII on here for a while
