DodgyBastard
For sale! It's a 92 breadvan, 85k on the clock, around 60k on the engine. It started it's life as a 1l 4 speed but is now a 1.4l 5 speed. The gearbox is from a 1l polo saloon so I think it might be a bit shorter than a standard 1.3 box, the engine is from a mk3 golf, engine code ABD. There's a 4 branch stainless manifold fitted to a standard system. Under the bonnet is standard looking with no other modifications. The interior is in great condition, it's a genesis model so comes with the gt style wheel and rev counter, I've also fitted a 12v socket from a cl model. DSC_1483 by srblythe, on Flickr The bodywork is in fair condition, there's no rot underneath, the fuel tank is clean and there's surprisingly very little rust on the filler neck, It's clean in the usual places for rot such as the filler cap area, around the windscreen and the battery tray. There's some surface rust on the bottom of the doors and a couple of scabs on the wings/arches, The swage line has a few parking dings along it because my neighbors don't appreciate old cars. I've recently replaced a few parts including the distributor, ht leads, spark plugs, oil, air and fuel filters, ignition coil, rear shocks, front discs and pads. I also changed the oil... The car drives spot on and has been driven sensibly by the 3 previous lady owners. This is currently my girlfriends car but isn't getting used much as she's got a Volvo 360 to play with.I've done pretty much all of the work including the engine conversion, we will be said to see it go, we've traveled all over the UK including a trip to Skye and a holiday in Wales. The 1.4 just gives the Polo that little bit extra torque, it's great for motorways, hills and surprising modern traffic. The wheels are Golf Ryder steels with beauty rings, I've also got a load of polo spares such as inlet manifolds, ecus, ignition coils, distributors and similar parts I'll throw inIt's taxed until December and Mot'd until the end of November I'm looking for £450, the car is in Dunfermline, Scotland. Cash on collection. Skizzer, Ghosty and Jazoli
Wilko220
I think I must be fairly unusual in really liking the look of these facelifted breadvans. Smart.
Pillock
Very nice, that must go OK with the 1.4 motor - my last 1272cc was nippy enough.
DodgyBastard
Had my first gumtree timewaster out tonight, 3 hours late, looked about 13 and brought his whole fucking family. His car was a barry chav spec 5 door corsa, his dad clearly wasn't impressed, I got the impression he was just thinking anything I said was bullshit. The boy got in the car started it up gave it a few revs from cold, Nice one m8... His dad was poking about at bits that weren't even rusty. If they had come on time they would have seen it in daylight...I let the boy take it for a spin, he couldn't drive it and kept his hand on the gear knob at all times boy racer style, putting the foot down at every opportunity he replies: It's quite nippy eh? God save me from the mouthbreathing Scumdee fucktards! Wilko220 and derskine
nisfan
This should sell easily but not to gumtree/ebay mongtards 115% of them seem to be timewasters and want everything to be perfect when they come to see it.

DodgyBastard
It seems gumtree isn't a complete waste of time a young guy who was in love with the car came along and bought it for £475. It's his first car and he was really happy to take it away. Happy ending for the Polo.... Wilko220
