Spottedlaurel
Welcome, that’s quite a machine! Early grille etc too?I’m guilty of posting the odd tractor here, judging by the background to your pic’s you work with fairy modern stuff I take it?Would love to see photos of anything you see, random Japanese imports would please me as much as the ‘normal’ old stuff. I don’t think we have anyone else from NZ do we?

55bloke
Welcome aboard!! I'm a HUGE fan of Mk 1 'tinas, and that's a real beauty, WELL DONE!! As it's a pre-airflow, but with round instruments, rather than the ribbon speedo of the very early ones, I'd guess it's a '63 or '64 model? GREEN with envy! AnthonyG
Welcome - that is a seriously gorgeous Cortina, like Mr 55 I love Mk1 Cortinas and am kicking myself now for not getting a good one in the late 90s, when half decent non GT/Lotus models could be had for around £1000. I understand NZ is full of old Brit stuff such as Fords, Rootes, Vauxhalls and BMC. Is the guy with about 8 morris marinas on here or retro rides? - he's from NZ. bigstraight6
Welcome, what a stunner of a Cortina, looks extremely well built Looking forward to some NZ spots
wuvvum
Wow. That is one impressive vehicle. Don't think I've ever seen a Tina fitted with a rotary before. And the rest of the car looks superb too. As KruJoe said, I think you should post pictures of this beastie on the Readers' Rides section of RetroRides - I think there are several people over there who will need to change their trousers after viewing those pics... Karmann Ghiaman
Looking forward to those. Your car is a beauty and, incidentally, the registration would cost about £90,000 in Britain (don't ask). Here's my Mk1: As you can see, slowly returning to Nature, far greener than any stupid Prius. (For some strange reason my Dutch mate Ralf covets the reg.)
55bloke
Er, that's a Mk 2!!
Karmann Ghiaman
Which was the one with CND symbol rear lights? Mine sort of hasn't got any. To tell you the truth, still not a great fan of Fords. This one came with the land which it's busy reverting to.
55bloke
The Mk 1 had circular tail lights devided into 3 segments on the saloon, and the estate at the start of theis thread demonstrates that they had a different arrangement.
