I had an Estate one of those things. 1.8 GLF or summat.Truly shite but amusingly so. I killed the engine, which was a feat in itself. The front diff used to wind up spectacularly at random times in it which made wet roads an experience to remember.Loved the frameless windows, class.

Got this off DVLA, you've probably done this already, but look at the "Cylinder Capacity" bit, just goes to show that the DVLA do sometimes get it wrong.

The vehicle details for KEA 664V are:

Date of Liability: 01-08-1989

Date of First Registration: 05-12-1979

Year of Manufacture: 1979

Cylinder Capacity (cc): 15950CC :?

CO2 Emissions: Not Available

Fuel Type: Petrol

Export Marker: Not Applicable

Vehicle Status: Unlicensed

Vehicle Colour: RED

On a similar note, while looking for a Lotus Esprit Turbo on the DVLA site, I found out why I couldnt find it, it had been registred incorrectly, the "make" had been registered as an "Esprit Turbo" which is actually the "model" the "make" is supposed to be Lotus, which explains why there are some cars that I cannot find.

DVLA database is full of bugs, amazing how often errors slip through the net even with chassis numbers and such like, I should imagine though that until very recently the data was all manually entered by otherwise unemployable Swansea slappers so with that in mind perhaps the fault rate isn't actually too bad. :)I find mycarcheck.com to be a reasonable way of revealing the correct make, but this doesn't always work especially on older kit.
