DodgyBastard
Nice that you have a replacement outer wing, but did you do anything about the crumbly inner wing? The outer wing is just sitting in place, there is metal on the underside that I can squirt some mig onto and fashion something out of poundland baking trays or something... Now the question is? Do I paint the wing in the original colour and restore the car or do I do my usual and fuck it up making it completely worthless in the process? I know which one I'd rather do... Also I got the car for absolutely nothing so I won't feel guilty about the latter.
vulgalour
Given the fact that Allegro prices are on the rise, I'd at least attempt to only fuck up the wing, leave the rest of the car as is. Since the car cost you nothing, why not profit? Jim Bergerac
New POD
Over at Mx5nutz.com, they would "sticker bomb" that wing.
DodgyBastard
Over at Mx5nutz.com, they would "sticker bomb" that wing. Sounds like a gr9 idea.
AnthonyG
I'd be inclined to do the wing in the right colour, as the rest of it looks pretty smart. Please don't 'ratlook' the poor thing, it's survived long enough to avoid that fate!
DodgyBastard
I think I'm going to try getting a colour match and just paint the wing. Anything that i do to the car will be reversible so if i do manage to sell it I'll still get something for it.what's it worth?
DodgyBastard
Had a Gr9 weekend driving around in this fine motorveehicle... It's not actually that bad to drive either. DSC_1811 by srblythe, on Flickr Top speed of 60mph, shit brakes... Turns out the clutch hose was leaking so I bought a brake hose and welded the original fittings to suit, it seems good and no more loss of fluid. Found the fuel line was leaking, wasted around 6 litres of petrol after it pissed out everywhere and only noticed it when I got home. It was a loose jubilee clip on what might have been the fuel pump, tightened it up and it's ok.I've driven just over 100 miles and only been laughed at once... trigger
drum
Nice rack. Have you found wheels for it yet? I fancy a change of wheels too for the 'gro and the 'stro.
derskine
You can use my compressor and paint gun to paint the wing if you want. Will be easier to get paint that matches I would think and look better.
DodgyBastard
I've found a set of allegro equippe alloys in Sunderland for £50 but undecided if I'm going to go for them. A compressor would be great to paint with. Cheers.
DodgyBastard
Right, Who wants it? I think just about any other 1976 car would be more desirable than this... Anyway I'd like to swap this fine chod for something else. Preferably with some tax and test and pre 2000.
