A mate needs a car trailered from Kingston to somewhere in Hertfordshire - it's 87 miles. It's got no tax, MoT and isn't very well (but can be pushed) so needs to go on a trailer, not towed. Some chap bought it from him on eBay, and has balked at the £250 towing charge that he's been quoted by recovery people. He's intimated that he will pay £100.Anyone here do it for a ton? My mate's mrs will probably provide tea as well as the hundred quid if it's a deal breaker :D

I cant do it, but I bet if he emails a few of those recovery geezers advertising on eBay he'll get one who'll do it for a one'er no probs, generally reckon on a quid a mile one way, i've used a couple of those outfits and had no issues.

Alternatively, Lantern Recovery will rent you a Land Rover and trailer for about £120 a day.
