Guest Facelifted75
Hi guys I'm selling my r reg Rover 600. only reason I'm selling is because I won't be using it for while thanks to an impending driving ban. I don't really want to sell it but here goes. It drives nicely and the body work is ok with no really bad rust or damage to paintwork. The interior is great with no rips and you can't even see any wear and tear on it. The MOT runs out in aug but she has not road tax. Theres a couple of small blisters on the rear arches but that won't take too much work to put right if it bothers you that much. Price is £600 and the car is located in Essex. Cheers. Wilko220
Will it do 135mph on the M4? Just hypothetically like... chaseracer, drum, inconsistant and 2 others
Partridge
Probably can if it's a Ti.
Hertz
Is this one still for sale? http://autoshite.com/topic/17096-for-sale-97-r-rover-600-20-si-manual-%C2%A3295-essex/?hl=rover+600 You did say you didn't want to sell it though.....
Partridge
With all due respect, I think £600 is a bit salty for an Rover with no tax.

It's going to get scrapped soon if not sold, so if anyone's interested it would be worth them coming for a look and making an offer.
Wilko220
I absolutely do not need it (especially while I'm still trying to get rid of the 75) but I'd be very sad to see that scrapped.
trigger
So you didn't find any loopholes from getting out of the ban then. Cavcraft
Mr_Bo11ox
What engine is it?
Lord Sterling
What engine is it?According to the DVLA it's a 2.0 which I assume is the same 2.0 found in the Rover 820 and 220.
Spiny Norman
Unless it's a Ti, which it doesn't look like it is, it'll be the Honda lump from the Accord.Good cars these, but I'd have to agree that price is well north of what I'd want to pay for an untaxed one of these with only a few weeks MOT. saucedoctor
purplebargeken
Nice car but more realistically it's worth around the £200 to £350 mark. Short MOT is the nail in the price coffin.
Bren
No tax is the killer - i am not suggesting for one minute that any of the contributors to this site would drive without insurance - however there are thousands of the great unwashed that would. I remember quentin willson reporting in the mirror that his mate sold old bangers and instead of bunging mats etc in them he lumped six months tax on them - he could'nt sell them quick enough. Lord Sterling
According to Car Check UK it's a Rover 620Si. I don't have my 600 brochure to hand so I assume this is a fairly low-spec 600. The 820/825 and 827 "Si" were fairly low spec motors.
Cavcraft
Lack of tax also puts people off as they cant 'legally' test drive the car. Sadly, thats actually irrelevant as I just cant see anyone buying a £150 car for four times that amount.
Partridge
£600 would probably be about right for it down here if it's tidy, but yeah as you say no tax is a big turn off. Is for me anyway.
dollywobbler
If it's going to be scrapped soon, surely it's only worth scrap money? Someone get an offer in. I would but I hate silver.
Lacquer Peel
Aye - if angrydicky can't sell his dad's one for £250, you're going to struggle. I had my mum's old Accord 2.0 up to 130MPH on the speedo when I was young and reckless if that helps. Partridge
purplebargeken
I guess my valuation was a bit off the mark. Tax & reasonable test clearly makes it easier to sell and for the buyer to collect and get home unless a certain well-known and respected Autoshite beavertail driver is hired. Angrydicky
These are just so unwanted by the general motoring populace. Too modern for classic enthusiasts, too old for the bottom line motoring scum (they just buy knackered Focus' and Fiestas instead), and outside enthusiast circles, no one wants Rovers due to the poor reputation for reliability and HGF, despite the fact that these are a Honda Accord under the skin and are just as reliable. Shame really. Cavcraft and outlaw118
rml2345
It is a shame Dicky as they're a damn site better looking than the equivalent Accord.
