Late reg because of coachwork?

Yes, I thought that. It must be jolly annoying perfecting a conversion on a particular model only for the manufacturer to replace it. Although chopping a 940 in half can't be much different to chopping a 740.

There always seemed to be a lot of C and even D reg mk2 Granada limos about, presumed Coleman Milne stockpiled a few.

i wonder if that Spartan is ford or ferald based- you can see the rear wings were clearly designed for bostin 1300 lights

That's definitely a late Ford based one from the sloping back and wide wings. I've got a slightly earlier one in my Dads garden that I swapped an Impala for in 1985. It was built in 1979 and has a purpose built chassis but Herald suspension etc. It was running a twin 40'd 2.1 Pinto when I bought it and was a fucking death trap, put the engine in an Escort and for 10 years it had a 1600 Cortina engine, which just made it a slower death trap . It's got a Sierra 2.0 Efi and 5 speed in it now, probably the only reason it hasn't been scrapped! Especially since my stupid brother drove a Transit over the side screens .

For the last 10 years it's been carefully stored in a Cat Piss and Bramble Carcoon.

Had a pretty brill day today. Amongst other things was collecting a random old pub sign originally from a boozer a couple of miles away. I don't know why I bought it, and it needs work, but what the hell.

Anyhow, the bloke where I collected it from was ace, he (or one of his relatives) had written a book about Rolls Royces, seemingly he'd owned quite a few and in his possession was a Bentley that once belonged to King Idris (?) which he said was one of only 4 in the world. He muttered something about having to spend £15,000 having the seats retrimmed!

He also had a tidy split screen Morris 1000 in his shed, the Laguna (for sale) and a 'proper' Transit which belonged to his mate and wasn't for sale, as obvs. like I asked straight away.

I thought they must have got rid of this as hadn't seen it in ages. They've owned it for absolutely yonks, recall it there in the late seventies, perhaps a smide earlier. They've also got a 1977-ish VW Camper they've probably had from new.

Anyhow, nice to see a rare and quite cool VW that hasn't been attacked by some 'scene tax' spacker.

Soz for quality* of picture, but I got absolutely wankered on lager and mostly vodka last night, plus my dog kept pulling me along as he doesn't like walking that route.

Unbelievably, probably not. The house prices round there are just stupid, it's in a 'trendy' part of town that was originally an rea for local railway workers, but has been (mostly) invaded by snobs. It's worse further into the village, it got hit by that wanky sort of 'minimalist' style that was the rage years ago and imho has just got worse since.

Walk round there on a Sunday and if you're not wearing desert wellies, stupid shorts and cricket jumper round your neck, you're looked on like an alien.

Sorry for the slight derailment (tenuous pun intended) but what is it with those vertical blinds? When I was young, I only ever used to see them in offices and workshops - houses round our way had either venetian blinds or curtains, and posh houses had roman blinds or expensive curtains. When I moved out to the provinces, loads of houses in town had grey or beige 'office blinds' in them, and Mrs_Duke couldn't understand why I found it so funny. Are they actually a 'thing' now?

Looks like a sodding dentist's waiting room, tbh.

Off to see the owner of the Bentley (further up) this week. He's suffered a passable attempt at being ripped off by some bodge artists/conman type **** by the sound of things.

Isn't that a northern thing? When I went to college in Newcastle I noticed that loads of houses had them, not a thing darn sarf.
