Guest greenvanman
My old Vespa has a set of Hills number plates with raised letters that have been painted to look like the later reflective style. This, as you might imagine, looks rubbish and I'd like to put them back to something like how they would have looked originally. I've cleaned all the old paint off and I was thinking I might masking tape over the letters and cut round them with a craft knife, then spray the plates with satin black. But if anyone's got a better idea I'm all ears!
seth
Sounds about right to me!
mk2_craig
Aren't the raised digits just held on with little push-fit metal clips? If so - do the obvious - if they're part of a pressed-metal plate - just paint the lot black then sand down the raised parts back to silver. Torsten2001
What I tend to do is spray the whole thing black and then paint the letters in silver with a nice little brush, it always looks superb!
