You should see the ones for Mk1 & Mk2 Escorts, listed as 'memorabilia'. Upwards of £5K for a Mexico/RS one with tags.

Hmm, righto!

eBay, DVLA, Police etc don't seem to mind as long as it's memorabilia I guess.

For fucks sake, this went through ACA less than 3 days ago for £2400, and it is now already on sale for £3995.

Yes, it is very clean, and yes, it has got a very low number of miles on the clock, but almost £4k for a Ford Sierra Estate is a bit much.

Not as greedy as the trader who picked up the '87 CX Safari from the JLR collection for £2800 at Brightwells, then tried to flip it for 11 grand. At the moment, he's had to drop to only* £9500.

Well it looks ok at first glance, clearly tarted up for the wedding trade though with the oversized whitewall tyres, cheap blowover respray which is microblistering due to poor prep, and cheap eBay numberplates in the post 2001 font. Underseal tidemark on the sills and wing bottoms and the front wing doesn't line up properly at the bottom, so most likely a bit 'fillery'. The top of the engine has also been tarted up, with the Austin badges on the rocker cover missing, and the inlet manifold splashed with green paint too.

'In the last 5000 miles: new wiring loom, king pins & bushes, copper brake pipes & cylinder seals, stainless exhaust, front & rear screen rubbers, core plugs'

Sounds good, what else?

'recently 4 white wall tyres on shot blast & powder coated wheels. (£1000 price reduction if you wish to have these replaced with four legal but "hard" tyres)'

Well that sounds ok, MoT exempt innit. Should knock a big dent in the price which is what? £4000?

'£60,000'

Get in the fucking sea.

“Just needs engine and gearbox and will be complete car.”

€12000

What fucking planet is he on, I’m not sure how much they go for but I’m pretty sure for that price you could buy an actual cosworth, with an engine

I'm sure you could in 2006.

I think I know, or at least knew that Sierra. Back in 1998 I borrowed my then gf’s Dads Sierra Estate to take her and some pals to Norfolk. At the time it had 5000 miles on the clock. Looked exactly the same as this one, surely there can’t be many of them knocking around?

He used it to transport his dogs around and despite the low mileage and excellent condition the thing absolutely stank then. If it’s the same car the markup being asked is probably justifiable considering how long it would have taken to remove the smell and the hair. The interior probably needed Fatharris style stripping and Vulgarising and it would have been disgusting.

Amazing parts bargain! For a mere £34 you can have a used genuine "prince of darkness" 7" sealed beam:

Or you could just buy a new one for the same money.

If I ever win the Euromillions, I'm going to make it my mission to bid on all the classifieds with a "do not bid" etc, all the classifieds that turn out to be a guide price... Basically everyone who can't work out how eBay works will find me buying their auctions and causing a headache.
