Rusty mess that really should be shiny and carries the wheel bearings and hubs for a 2 tonne vehicle

It is a pleasant change to see one done up nice and clean, not all fake grotty with a light dusting of black spray paint.

Phew these A40's have got pricey.  Seller spells "Pinninfarina" incorrectly too. Talks about it being the first hatchback - except this one is not. "MK 1 version here is certainly the pick of the bunch" apparently  as it was built for only  3 years. Well actually the MK2 is better - longer wheelbase and various improvements. Hey-ho I can remember when these were unsaleable bangers.

I don't think that '55 is too badly priced. Sure, they're unloved even by most BMC enthusiasts as everyone wants the Farinas, but that one looks very original and pretty rustfree too, bar a potential fibreglassed patch on the vulnerable inner wing, behind the battery. It's got its original reg and a good interior too.

They are rotboxes and most didn't survive the sixties.

Whether it's worth £2750 is open to speculation, but buying something like that will potentially save you thousands in welding and repair costs. I must have sunk that into mine easily, and it's still not finished.

Anorak note - it's got the wrong hubcaps on it (from an A55 MK2 by the looks)

Land Rover Series 2a 88" registered 1967 Truck Cab

s-l1600.jpg

mechanically this drove very well (about 15 years ago)

parked up for a while then. Check

no knocks rattles or smoke and all gears including the Fairey gearbox changed smoothly when last on the road.

yeah but 15 years ago!! Now we just have to take your word for it. Check

REQUIRES A NEW CHASSIS / RESTORATION.. this is not a quick fix and on the road

Yep looks like it. Check

as these are selling in the mid £20,000's when fully restored to a high standard.

- especially so when fitted with 109" chassis and 5 door safari body.

Reckon this could be £7 - £10bags done, needs running gear overhaul/rebuild, new chassis, suspension parts, bulk head work, doors, seat base, floors, electrics, paint .. etc etc etc

Today the Land Rover engine was turned over it spun smooth and free.. with fresh fuel expect it would start..

A spoonful of fuel gravity fed into the carb was too much hassle then. Check

Fairey Capstan winch runs off Crankshaft sits on front bumper...for sale.........Not included in sale of this vehicle..

pulling bits off it for greed etc check

5 years ago this would have been £200 today probably £1000 - £1500 at best

Priced at £3,950 but will Consider a sensible Cash Offer

Yes I think so too.  Probably could be a bit of bargain looking at its apparent solidity, having the floor change, open to offers.  It's a presentable, jump in and go 1950s car for less that £3k

Tidy early 24V Scorp saloon.

£9,500.

Quote, "THESE CARS WILL RISE IN VALUE CONSIDERABLY FARLY SOON AS ANYTHING WITH COSWORTH STAMPED ON IT IS STARTING AT 10k".

Nice original unwelded car (so far), but am sure a couple of salty winter's use would ruin it.

Are these also destined for the pages of overpriced Fords advertised for sale till the end of time?

There was a 80k mile frogface Cossie, R-reg, for sale near me before Christmas. Good history with it. Seller was asking £850 and it was for sale for ages.

Edit, Ebay car's now flagged up as 'SOLD SOLD SOLD'.

(White Room next week for £16,950? Have to wait and see).
