uk_senator
Even when I was a lad, 1600E orions were the holy grail. Lads had XR2s, 3is, Orion Ghias, but nobody had ever seen a 1600E in the flesh. A few people claimed to have a cousin/uncle/neighbour who had one with an escort turbo engine in and that was basically the best and most adult and respectable car anyone could imagine when I was 15. This one lived near me, was owned from 2yo, but it got scrapped a couple of years back. So much for old Fords never dying..

JeeExEll
££ Seventy Five Thousand Pounds. £75,000. I thought it was probably a typo for £7500 (which, on it's own, is mega money for an old Mk1 Tina), but after reading the ad I think £75k is the gen asking price. Early 1500GT more-door. Not a Lotus. Described as being the earliest one around. What difference that makes I don't know. Sure it's a very fine example, the best I've ever seen, absolutely gorgeous, fab engine-build too, but hey . . . May as well just advertise it for £500k. With all the publicity round a half-million-pound Cortina some rich fool might just offer a cheeky bid of £350k. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Cortina-mk1-gt/292224664129?hash=item4409f28241:g:BzsAAOSwry1Z9b~h
