inconsistant
This one's already been featured but it's now got itself a rather attractive station car park playmate: Jag of much oh dearness: Bit too dark to work out what it is: Even in the dark I know that's a Beetle. L reg so late one (super beetle?) I think: RobT, Squire_Dawson, danthecapriman and 2 others
garethj
I think it was the 1302 that was called the Super Beetle, the one in the photo is a 1303 which has a curved windscreen. The 1302 had the McPherson struts up front but a flat windscreen. Those wide wheels (if they're original) probably mark it out as a 1303S, a 1600cc engine with a throbbing 50, yes 50bhp. Eyeballs in the back of your head when you accelerate. At least compared to the 1200cc with 34bhp inconsistant

inconsistant
I'll bung the photos from Brooklands New Years Day up shortly but in the meantime here's some roadside tat I've come across in the past few weeks: Decent original Beetle, looked really nice and cared for. Unfortunately broken down. Stuck in OMGBLIZZARDAPOCALYPSE traffic so managed to pap this fairly local 405 in a normally hard to pap place. BRM in the dark. I totally would, even with that ridiculous prostitute clowns mouth. Nice original straight Range Rover. This one was parked up outside a primary school with the engine running to keep the driver warm. Surely would have been cheaper and warmer to be in the pub next door with a pint. A Mini. A proper non cooper non buggered about with Mini. Lovely. Some sort of weird Porsche with the engine at the wrong end. A fairly early one too I believe. Nice straight original Minor. Dolomite Automatic Scimitar Reliant, looks early and nice in the January sun but actually really tatty. Like! Bus drive-by pap of the MG flagship dealership showroom in London's posh West End. This is opposite the Titz Hotel, and looks an absolute disgrace. No GS, just a big gap in the middle and a gold TF in the prominent corner window. Basically a half empty used car dealership on Piccadilly. Seeya then MG, bye! mercrocker, RobT, danthecapriman and 2 others
danthecapriman
That blue Dolomite's a bit of alright. Nice colour and has a proper gearbox too.

inconsistant
Went to see the European Drag Championships at Santa Pod yesterday. The morning was awesome, those Top Fuel dragsters are an experience of indescribable awesomeness and thoroughly recommended. Best 3.975 seconds of the day. The afternoon was unfortunately drizzly and dragster free. Apparently there are no wet weather tyres in drag racing, because traction is important, or something.Didn't manage to get a photo of the sprightly yellow Marina Van achieving speeds of very fast while doing the quarter mile in times of not many seconds but did enjoy these whilst strolling around the paddock area. V reg would have been 1979... was it a 20 year special or something? I think I've also got a Mini 25 and a 30 earlier in the thread. Forgot to mention I spotted it in Pratt's Bottom, which was nice. RobT
Lovely stuff. We seem to be skirting around each other's manors as none of your spots look familiar (with the possible exception of the red Acclaim). Was that in Beckenham?
Volksy
The 1100 Special was for the Mini's 21st anniversary. Available in Silver, or the colour above (which was called Rose). I had one as my first car. Bought for £70, I crashed it and bodged it back together before sending it through the auctions where I got £140 for it! inconsistant

inconsistant
As far as chod bothering goes, car meets and shows always feel a bit like shooting fish in a barrel... never as exciting as a quality spot out in the wild. Having said that, I went to a meet last weekend at the Black Swan pub Ockham, near the A3/M25 junction and there was some good stuff there so I'm going to add it to this thread. I'll probably go back next month (2nd Sunday of the month so will be March 11th) if anyone want's to make it an Autoshite Surrey/SW London meet up? Here's the cars... Transit: MGB coachbuilt thingy: A Ford: The best car Volvo ever made: Lovely low mileage Scirocco: NSU TT 928: You know Turbo A proper MG: Mini van Shiney corner: A jag based kit car: Of course they ALL have lovely bottoms father: Don't know: Morris Minor with a Range Rover engine: Porsche 924 Mazda RX7: Grommit cheese trouser van: Also don't know: Audi with a Porsche engine: Old lovely Mobylette motorbike: Mini 1275GT City E Cooper: A low slung coupe of desire: A beautiful, stunning, rare and sought after Porsche, and a modern 911 RobT, NorfolkNWeigh, Dirk Diggler and 5 others

inconsistant
Is that a Delorean bum poking out behind that transit? No. It's two Delorean bums! chodweaver
I thought to start with this was a Burlington SS kit car, but it turns out to be an NG TC kit from NG (Nick Green) Cars of Milford on Sea, Hants. Probably MGB based. inconsistant

Exiled_Tat_Gatherer
Yup - and going by the plate it's the slightly wider V8 version. inconsistant
It's time for three, yes three updates. The first quiet one is happening behind the scenes... I'm gradually making my way through the thread from post 1 replacing all the photobucket links for pix uploaded to the forum, coz the dirty monkeyfunkers totally trashed this thread earlier in the year. Here's the other updates. Chod caught over the last couple of months, mostly SE London. MX5 in need of tlc Fiat Ciqhnuikichenetn 500 sporting. These look lovely. would love to have a go on one, bet they're mega fun. Bedford Camper Pioneering spirit evoked. Caprice at Gaydon GMC truck at Gaydon, bonus Allegro lurking. inconsistant
Nice honest Golf GLS, no fruit, no slam. Spotted this Xantia estate... had forgotten they existed. Really nicely proportioned car, deceptively big. And another one just around the corner. Prefer the grille on this one. Another huge French Estate Yay, Serena! This was nice. Bin lid wheel covers. I pass this Jaaaaag regularly but it's on a fast bit of my bike ride home and I always decide to stop next time. There was a bloke repairing it so I stopped to say Hi. Lovely bloke, owned it for 20 years, regularly used and it lives outside... paint is really flat, a very pale beige, and is surprisingly rust free. nice clean Omega This looks like a ti by the exhausts. is it? But first let's hear from The Chairman: Next up a lovely old Passat: A mismatched Accord: An Alpine: A Golf GTi looking lovely and fresh: And a late Golf GTi too, looking like the exact opposite of everything positive that was ever said about the Mk1: And finally an Austin, er, Angrydicky A Something: If you ever thought you were suffering from perished rubbers that last one should put things into perspective. inconsistant
Mmm, time for an update. I'm assuming we're still doing spotted threads? I can't promise to match the awesomeness of RobT's but here's some little treasures I've beeen bothering over the last year or so. First up, a beige Marina 1.3 coupe. I've only recently learned the different between the front grilles of the 1.3 and the 1.8 so I'm fairly confident this is a 1.3 even without the badges. a (F)red Transit NEC classic car show car park shot, including a self spot. Dark Beast... a nice looking 850R X weg 323i Something frightening lurking in the woods. ADO16 getting a good bit of use Don't know what it is but I like it. Make mine a 99 Now and Then: Honest looking Metro Lovely looking bee eggs.
