Sirocco for starts - I quite like these bog standard looking ones

Then right around the corner was this mad Nissan based thingy - I see this driving around quite often.

Of all the old things in Glasgow they're always going to be either Volvo 240 estates OR these Mercs. Quite like these.

And also near the VW and Nissan was this 'rod

Before the weather went fugly there was an old boy bangin around in this brilliant WW2 BMW bike and sidey in full desert livery

Nicely done cut 'n shut outside Halfrauds

One for Pog? I really like this little BMW, maybe not the pretty hefty rust under the rear bumper but like the type and colour, from an era where beemers looked neat. Before they went into ugly wife beater style. And yes, I was driving at the time  at 2mph

Mini with 'tax in the post' instead of taxdisk probably weighed in now..

Really nice SD

And my mate's late Fester from Orkney that he gave to me last week to fix up for the MOT, every bit of rust ground off revealed another hole until the underside was like Swiss cheese, not to mention the tyres, front arm bushings, one balljoint, duff tyre, rusty brake pipes and such.. was weighed in last week - sadly had only done 68K - engine was full of potential - body was made of rust.. never buy a car from Orkney!

And snapped in a service station, now we know where they get BP Ultimate from..

Probably abandoned by an Irish student from the nearby Uni's. I went to Glasgow Caley when they had Park Campus just off Woodlands Road.

Good area for shite eh? Nice spots :D

I remember an old Leyland FG (Reg XYO something T) that used to tool around there, together with a Blue Bedford CF and a red Avenger 8)

It was in Glasgow, parked in a little 'off street' place that's actually on a main road, where you quite often see old Rovers and some Morris minors and other old GB mobiles. I must admit the SD 1 pic is quite old (not been keeping up to speed with my snaps) and I have'nt seen it for a while but there is a Rover P6 quite often in the same place.Good to see.

Excellent. I'm really quite happy the mini lives. Looked like it was one rotten rear subframe away from the end...

Well I met up with a fellow Citro maniac last weekend and he had this fabby Turbo 1 CX

But it turned out that the Lada Niva I'd been passing recently was his too:

Posted Image

but can you see what he's got in the lockup behind?

Yep, it's a Princess! and in absolutely fine fettle it is too

Posted Image

the lock up is under student accommodation, he runs the department for that . Best bit is his wife doesn't know about the princess! She only recently found out about the CX!

Better not tell her about the Lada....

Just outa interest, how much did you coin in for your free Xantia denzel-o-matic? Smile

£565 less ebay fees.Sounds great but I spent cash on new parts: 2 front tyres, 5 suspension spheres, 5 litres of hydro clean, timing belt, battery, replacement mirror engine oil and filter, diesel filter and wiper blades. I got it free but with no tax so had to get that too. Basically I rekon I got my money back on the bits and maybe even made a little but I managed to keep an odd spec Xantia on the road and that's happy stuff.

Echoes my own experience with free/v.v.v.cheap motors - I've always been glad to get my money back, plus a round of drinks if I'm lucky

Is that location the A82 at the Milton heading towards the Bowling roundabout?

- that it is! It seems to be the only way out of here in that direction. The BMW lives on the same road but several miles further along (at Anniesland to be precise) so it might have been heading home at the snap.

Aye, it's the only real direct route from Dumbarton to Glasgow. When I lived up there if it had been a Nice Day and the Lochside was heaving it was often worthwhile going over the Stockiemuir road, it was generally free-flowing. I've seen the A82 backed up from the Vale roundabout all the way past Duck Bay back to the Faslane road...I was on the push-bike!:lol:
