Oh! There is a proper introduction thread. Hi again.

As I've said in my car thread. I go by the name Conan on various sites. I'm a 20 years old from south west Bangkok area in Thailand. I'm currently a Political Science student and thus a soon to be very much stereotypical liberal arts major graduate.

I've always been interested in cars since I was a kid. Even though I've been through phases, of course I didn't start out liking chod alright? But life sorta threw me into this world of cheap motoring, which I love very much.

I'm currently owning a 1989 Toyota Corolla (chronicled here http://autoshite.com...ok-89-corolla/)and a 2011 Toyota Corolla (spare car for when I want absolute reliability). And there are a few other boring modern cars in my household.

I've been introduced to this site by a friend. Who linked me to various "adventures" you guys have gotten up to. Including the excellent Mr_Bo11ox's K-Series saga. Every thread in here I learnt a lot of shit from. I like that very much. Local car communities don't care for cheap shite so much unless it's in the specific model community (which of course doesn't really exist for all of them).

I studied English by watching Top Gear and Life on Mars. That probably has some effect.

Hope I'm not too weird to fit in.

Thanks!

Thanks for the add. I've been about posting already, but what the hell.

I live in Woking, I'm 17, and have been driving since the end of February after passing my test on my second try (in the same month!)

I've always been into this old shite, weirdly enough. Old Cavs and Mondeos from the 90s give me that warm nostalgic feeling, with them having been the most popular cars about when I was out my scooter and bike at 8. Guess I just have a lot of nostalgia, paired with my general enthusiasm of cars and tight-fisted nature. The result of which is me signing up on this forum!

I drive a 2005 Corsa 'cause it was a hand-me-down, very cheap to insure and actually gives a good opportunity to get my head around doing basic work on cars, as opposed to hightailing down to the nearest TrustFord stealer and getting a 63 plate Fiesta on PCP - like everyone else at college.

Happy motoring to you all.

Hey I finally got approval. I really do not know what went wrong But I had to try 3 times ( I think) :?

Live in Spain and I wanted to give some advise on how to export the Renault 7  from Spain, but I was not quick enough. All went smoothly in the end.

I will still do a write up with some links when I get the time.

I also hope to add some local Chod as this area really should be known as Chodland

My apologies, that was my fault. We get a reasonable amount of SEO spammers trying to register and your email address made me mistake you for one. Welcome!

I use an old email address for things like forums. In reality since I moved away from the city the server service is located in I should have given the email up. But it has a good spam protection. Plus it is easy for me to read emails on the sever. Yes it is in a totally different country to where I am based now. So Registration IP is very different to email IP. I do understand your conclusion. I was once a moderator many years ago.

Thankfully you let me join.

I don´t know what to say, as I am very bad introducing myself. Got my approval some days ago, at the 2nd time. I live in Spain, and I like cars very much, especially the French ones, but I also have a soft spot for classic British cars, and Rovers, that´s for sure.

Hi all, been lurking for a while enjoying the marvelousness* of the world of shite. Decided to finally register to give something back - whether or not anyone gives a fuck will remain to be seen

(green emoji chosen to cleverly reflect buying opportunity link of tenousity to great green rover 820 for sale)

I've had much shite over the years, the pinnacle of which was a mk2 astra avec duct tape on at least 4 of the corners which hapenned to be a 1.3 auto that would attempt to change gear when going around corners, this unfortunately meant that much speed was lost around said corners as it had a fit of indicision as to which gear it should be in (a choice of 4 shouldn't be that fecking hard to pick from eh?). What would any sensible person do? Top up the autobox fluid go faster into corners, yes.

Currently have a 1985 BX19 GT (bloody luverly, probably a keeper), an AX 1.0 Elation (gaurenteed* to create elatedness) and the aforementioned extra-shitey Rover 820.

I'll do a project thread at some point with all of that.

Whoa! What's the prize?!

My particular cunting talent appears to be the use of the word cunt at the most inappropriate times, im that good* it's almost a form of art. The art of cunting, by Tomtation.

Hi all. got around to posting this morning after a fair while lurking. Only then discovered that apparently I had an account registered in 2008 that looks like it's never been touched  :?

Anyway back then I'd have been rolling around Guildford in a fairly mouldy but genuine 40k mile Cavalier Mk2 while I was at Uni there. Made my money back on that 2 years after buying it, and spent the proceeds on my Scirocco GTII which has spent the last 5 years in my grandfathers garage having popped a head gasket on the way back from a trip to France & Germany. Apart from that, and a leaky sunroof, it was in pretty good shape when it came off the road & now I'm considering whether to get to work on it.

Current transport is a 2001 Renault Clio 1.1, with 182k on it, despite which it has flown through the two MoT's since I've had it, and pretty much everything works. Well worth the £250 i paid  :-D

Looking forward to getting involved
