Torsten2001
I succumbed to this on Saturday, left under a tree for nearly five years untouched, 4 flat tyres and mine for 1p: So with the help of the enormously helpfull and reasonably priced Andy (number on request) we got it back to my cave last night where with a spot of fresh petrol and jumpstart it burst into life and ran SUPERBLY, pretty much everything works on it electrically, brakes, tyres and clutch need a look over: The drivers side front wing needs a fibreglass repair but after an early morning wash this morning I'm in love, she's a cracker! Worthless I guess as she's a catalyst but what a sweet motor!
Guest
Excellent work! I'd love to get some Riva action at some point, great to see that bargains still exist, 1p sounds like a good deal!Reckon it'll get through the emissions test?
Torsten2001
It's going to be a massive struggle, especially as she's not had a run for 5 years but she's only got 30k on the clock with FSH up to 600 miles ago!

nigel bickle
Nice one. Knackered tyres, shot brakes, tired exhaust will quickly empty your pockets! I'll get that FSO finally finished soon....

Split_Pin
Fantastic! Any Lada being saved now is a bonus IMO I recommend Isopon for a temporary front wing repair. That has survived remarkably well - theres an abandoned Lada in Arran in Scotland B475AHS which was intact when I first saw it in 2001, now the whole front end has disintegrated beyond recognition!I dont envy you with the upcoming carb vs catalyst battle though!*Edit - just looked at the pics again, apart from the front wing that Lada is amazingly rust free!!! Cavcraft
That's class, you lucky/jammy sod! How did you get it for a penny, was it some sort of 'wrongly listed on eBay by twerp' shenanigans?
Torsten2001
Someone mentioned it on the USSR chat room, it was going to be Hiabed if it wasn't moved, the owner was found and he sold it to me for a penny. It really did look a state, even after I got it back I was wondering why I bothered and then it started almost instantly and idled properly and to be honest it cleaned up to a reasonably good state so I am beside myself with joy! michiel
Why did you wash it? Sap look is going to be the thing in 2009 innit?
Torsten2001
yeah, it's almost camouflage however I needed to check it over and washing's the best way, also when and if I get it to MOT stage I think I'd stand a better chance if it didn't look abandoned! pandamonium
Nice one! Looks smart, most white cars that age are slowly disintegrating!
