Guest
Looking on youtube found an advert I loved as a kid. VW Golf ad from the late 70's where it dropped out the sky next to Burt kwouk. Anyone any other faves

wuvvum
I do like the Fabia cake car as well. My other favourite is the Ford advert where the orchestra is playing instruments made out of bits of Focus.
r.welfare
Yes, that one interests me because they state they are actually playing the piece on those there instruments, made out of the car bits - but I call BS on that; don't see how you could tune a "double bass" properly out of a wing and clutch cables, let alone how a windscreen wiper could act as a bow Sadly I read in Autocar that the Fabia "cake" was offered to homeless people in East London, but the H&S folk kiboshed it because it had spent too much time under studio lighting... Spottedlaurel
Can't immediately think of a favourite, but I can state that I'm not keen on any ad that's been made somewhere like NZ or SA, or ones that feature disguised versions of cars. Mr Lobster
^^^ the Fabia ended its days as pig food after that somewhere in south London I believe. As far as ads go, I would like to post a link to the Renault 11 - Its Tough On The Streets ad, but as I'm at work and can't access YouTube I won't.Always liked the Peugeot one where the car drives past the burning fields, can't remember the car or the song used though.Rather liking the new Renault Koleos advert at the moment as it features R4, R16, R12 and R30! Guest
I like the fairly recent Honda one with the cheap Burt Reynolds using all the random old Honda machinery, but I can't find it yet. Soz.

MrRegieRitmo
or SA, or ones that feature disguised versions of cars.Like that Mondeo advert where everybody is pushing their old cars into the air tied to clusters of helium balloons? (where the old cars don't look like any real car I can identify.....are they meant to be Sierras? If so why can't they just show them in their true form, considering they're a product of their own making, couldn't they find enough decent ones left? Milford Cubicle
Montego ad where he (Russ Swift) drives on two wheels, jumps, handbrake turns to park etc. Sorry, can't be arsed to find it on YouTube. Can't immediately think of a favourite, but I can state that I'm not keen on any ad that's been made somewhere like NZ or SA, or ones that feature disguised versions of cars.Or the generic international ones, like this Which is apparently set in and around Glasgow.... Why have they even bothered?

Simon M
As far as ads go, I would like to post a link to the Renault 11 - Its Tough On The Streets ad, but as I'm at work and can't access YouTube I won't.This one?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOd7MvqV ... re=relatedI loved this one as a child, still got the UK version on tape somewhere. I also really like the Renault 25 'Origin Of The Species' ad, which I also have on tape, but can't find on Youtube - it's the one with a 25 driving down a volcano to an operatic soundtrack. Much better than the smug yuppies that came later! Here's Arfur Fowler giving it some in an Allegro (rotten quality - the clip, not the car. Love the music!) - FOX 867L survived until 1985, according to the DVLA, though after seeing Arthur's driving, I have to wonder how!The Vauxhall Chevette is whatever you want it to be: - the song from this advert was released as a single by First Class (of 'Beach Baby' fame) as 'Life Is Whatever You Want It To Be'! RedSparrow
Whilst looking for an MG Metro ad, I came across this:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XtGjVgtht8kMetro and Batman, a strong contender for best shite advert I think you'll agree! And of course the classic:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HdnviN_S8V8Great cars and a great deal more! Simon M
Almost, UK version is here - That's odd, I don't remember that one at all!Not a TV ad, but does anyone remember when they launched the Renault 25, they put up an enormous pillar somewhere in London and stuck a 25 on the top? I took a photo of it, but it was from a moving car so essentially it looks like some sky with a vague blur underneath.

Albert Ross
Not got youtube here at work........cant see a thing or find anything either, but I do remember the Toyota Corolla mid 90s one where they proudly announced that it had doors, and brakes etc. With cheesy music and big arrows pointing to it or something like that. gtd2000
I thought the "new" Skoda adverts (a few years back) were very clever - you remember the ones where people were running out of the showrooms etc once the salesman disappeared to get them a brochure or suchlike?
