I don't think 'replica' is the right word. In most cases, they bought the factory equipment to carry on production after it ceased with the original manufacturers...

...or, in the case of the Opel/Mosky, carted the production lines off to the east as reparations after WW2 :wink: Fiat had a lot of involvement in the development of the Soviet motor industry, trading obsolete designs (600/124) and assistance in building factories (Togliattigrad) for access to cheap Russian steel to be made into cars back in Italy. :shock: Oh dear... :roll::wink:
