MrRegieRitmo
My favourite model car website as you can look up to see what models exist from manufacturers, not just what they have in stock. You have the option to check just what's in stock, just the catalogue or both! Great idea!http://www.carmodel.net/
Spottedlaurel
HLJ is good for that too with kits, though sadly their site is down right now. Just found this oddity amongst 19 pages of kits from a Japanese eBay seller... Even odder...

reallyloud
I have a 'modest' collection of 1/60, 1/43, 1/32, 1/24 and 1/18 die cast models collected over the years. I also have loads of unmade 1/24 stuff awaiting my attention. After a gap of about a year, I picked up 2 neat 1/18 models recently in a big discount store called something (TJ?) Maxx. A Sunstar Lancia Stratos and Solido Peugeot 205 Rallye - a tenner each. They also had a Peugeot 403 Sedan, an intergrale and Facel Vega too. I have a few of my cars on here:http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/photo_index_toys.htm

I got the Cortina Mk5 and Granada Mk2 in the same sereis and they're fab models. It's great that Ixo/Altaya and so on are around now because they're doing loads of 80s stuff that's never been modelled before. Seat Malaga saloon anyone?! Karmann Ghiaman
Just finished making this: Got it in one of those collections Humbrol used to bring out. I'm afraid I gave the nicely-made Herald to a friend whose got a real one & his daughter's dolly used it as her wheels & wrote it off of course. There's the 1967 Escort with an Airfix Bugatti 35 & the TR4. Many Airfix cars are remarkably good kits. Note that I gave the Escort Chelmsford plates. Hope you like the purple colour; it seems quite authentic.
Mash
Coincidence - I got halfway through the Escort in summer. The 3 kit pack has been reintroduced by the way this time with the Escort, Herald and HA Viva. You can buy it direct from Airfix for about £14 (or you could before they shut the factory in Hull!! Might still be made in China)My pride and joy in my collection are the Marina and Maxi. It took me about 15 years to finally get ones at affordable prices (the Marina was only £20 and it's mint!). They were cheap enough to build but with the current prices where they are it's a bit of a dilemma
Karmann Ghiaman
Would like to get hold of the Viva, but I've got plenty to be getting on with. Usually get round to making them eventually, but like most serious modellers I've got enough unmades to open a small shop. Also just finished the Tamiya VW KG 'as' my own real '67 one: Obviously not shite. The kit's pretty good though of course you notice everything that's wrong with it when you have an intimate relationship with the 1:1 version! (e.g. had to scratchbuild the passenger grabrail, not included though a famous & prominent feature).
Ratdat
I've never really done many 1/32 kits but those Airfix jobbies look pretty worthwhile. I remember once doing a Mini, a Citroen Traction and a 2CV. I think they were all Airfix. I got a handful of Arii 1/32 kits of Japanese cars which have really nice detail but not built any yet. I might tackle on over christmas as it'll take less time than a 1/24.
Karmann Ghiaman
I've never really done many 1/32 kits but those Airfix jobbies look pretty worthwhile. I might tackle on over christmas as it'll take less time than a 1/24.Yes, 1/32 is a funny scale, but, as mentioned, Airfix cars are remarkably good kits. I do a lot of aviation modelling & Airfix kits are generally inferior, though they made some interesting types of aircraft. A lot of their moulds have been kept going FAR too long, so even if they ever had any detail, it's long gone. But many of the cars have excellent detailing, including engines (as in that Escort). The TR4 also has an engine. If Arii are any good you may find that they'll take as much time as a 1/24 scale model - certainly the Airfix 1/32s can take as long as Tamiya 1/24s.Have also done the Revell 1/16 KG (for someone else & I can't find any photos) - too big for a plastic kit really; and I've got the Gunze Sangyo one unmade. Vin
Nice kits those Airfix ones. I built the box set about 15 years ago. Escort was finished as standard although Herald was cut down and built as a pick-up with a cab wall added. Thought it turned out quite well. Only half built the TR as I lost interest - probably cos I had no interest in the real thing...
Ratdat
Just been browsing yahoo japan auction looking at kits and there's some fantastically dull shite on there. Shame it's a bit pricey getting stuff off there. Tempted by this 323 Awesome! But the lord god king of all the shite kit manufacturers still remains Academy/Minicraft. Not only did they produce the Hyundai Excell and Stella kits I have but check out this eye wateringly dull offering!! Lastly... WTF?!
Karmann Ghiaman
WTF indeed! Don't suppose Porsche would be terribly happy about that swastika! I wonder if any of the Eastern European/ex-Soviet kit manufacturers will make plastic models of any of their cars which we love so much? Trouble is, car models are usually of cool wheels, not Mum & Dad's shopping trolley. Don't know if they have things like ebay either, but my sister sometimes goes to Poland & has got me a few interesting vehicles & aircraft from a good model shop in Krakow:
