retrogeezer
I picked these up last week, I only wanted the Escort van really but the guy did me a good deal on all 3 so it would have been rude not too!: I also got this little lot from the same guy for a great price: I've got myself a nice collection of Mk3 vans now... MrRegieRitmo
Also, i saw a picture of the 'colin mcrae' collection releases, the other notable one being a MKI sierra, i really hope this means they will finally make a normal sierra release, no one has ever. And maybe we will get a base one. The 309 looks pretty good, as does the pre production sample of the Legacy.Bram my man, where are you seeing these please? MrRegieRitmo
Those Corgi Italian Job sets are absolutely ridiculous money!! What was the RRP? Can't have been anything close to this! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CORGI-1-43-1-50-3 ... %26ps%3D63 I remember these sets coming out & I have to say, although I quite liked the look of the coach model, I didn't foresee it being 'one to have', just 'a nice set' that I wouldn't go out of my way to own. Really I'd just like a model of one of those Bedford VALs but it doesn't have to be 'that' one so I'm not sure why for most people it does have to be!?! Must be down to those movie buffs Can't get over the price though, it doesn't even mention being a limited edition or anything!
MrRegieRitmo
shame its not 1/43 but love this Rover 800 Not in those 'My First Matchbox' colours I don't! Better in the plain silver & blue band you can get it in. Even better in 1/36 or whatever it is, but you're right no 1/43 at the moment, only in white metal. Altogether though, really prefer the R4 F4, got the same one myself when I was a kid, played 'swapsies' with a friend in order to add it to my collection. Dear Rob, I always got what I wanted from you, many thanks, Richard
MrRegieRitmo
Paging Reg_Ritmo http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALFA-ROMEO-145-St ... 0355967585 Thought you might want? Thanks, I've added it to my watchlist. Can't see me purchasing any time soon though, most of my money's taken up for the foreseeable future Hopefully they'll do a Ti at some point. Bought from this seller a few times, always has interesting stock Nearly had me splurging £65 on a Vanguards Morris Marina Bijou van kit conversion at one point. I managed to resist though... MrRegieRitmo
Finally put up the shelf for tiny tat . . .I love the fact that you have two motors with wings in grey primer. The Transit also looks a little distressed.Welcome to the wonderful world of 'Vanguards Hidden Treasures' range
MrRegieRitmo
I had the green Rancho (sold it), blue Acclaim (might still have it) & the suped up MkI Polo (may have sold it).As for the Escort vans, my first childhood one was in Pizza Delivery livery, which unfortunately I ruined by coating in thick Humbrol signal yellow to go with my others which I'll tell you about now. When I was 6, for my birthday I asked for some British Gas models. Unfortunately, wherever mum went to for them only had 1 left which was one of these Escort 55 vans, so I ended up with British Telecom instead, a set of 3; Escort 55 van, Ford Cargo box truck & generator, plus the individual British Gas Escort van. At the time I was into painting my models for the hell of it & I happened to have a little tin of yellow, so quite a few of my models ended up looking like they'd joined the ranks of British Telecom Not long after I gained the Telecom set I ended up with another individual Escort van also in British Telecom livery, possibly via my gran. The difference with this one was that the writing was in a fractionally different font, or the yellow was darker, something like that. Also the rear doors were fixed & could not be opened. Strange. All have now been sold I believe.Within the last few years, a nostalgic streak in me purchased a new old stock Escort van in the Pizza livery which I spotted in a model shop & thought I'd bring back memories of being 5 again with! ChinaTom
I have just found a little case in my attic containing, amongst others, these. Probably goes a long way to explain why I like shite. Mr Lobster
I've got one of the Matchbox Cortinas kicking about somewhere. More battered though and I think it's green. Juicy Fruit Capri takes me back a bit - had one of them but the bonnet broke off on it - I was gutted!Great pics, Mrs CT looks less than impressed though!
