im not ever met anyone who collects white metal models, the cost is just stupid.I just hope someone makes a granada/cortina estate soon enough.I did email corgi with suggestions, if they take them into accord is another matter though.I just managed to buy a fern green MKIII Cortina for a very good price, it seems if you want the rare vanguards releases, small model shops are your best bet......

cheers for the offer but ill pass for now!If you want a decent viva model, get the GT.They were part of the decertificated range so shouldnt break the bank, if you find one on auction at least. I think theyll make a HC one soon too, well they better do at least.I really want the customised Ford popular, Transit, Cortina or Spitfire, but all of them apart from the latter are around £14 on ebay.... so no thanks.I have 3 MKIII cortinas by Vanguards now, might be 4 soon.I havent been paying over the odds, simply searching them on google and finding small model shops has led me to them.Has anyone seen the Vanguard Jan-March 2010 releases? Looks alright!

Can I just confirm you said a Peugeot 309?? Have they actually decided to move onto non Brit vehicles at last?!

Sure did! It's part of the Colin McRae collection which also has a Focus and a few others that I can't remember for the life of me at the moment which will come out sometime in the next two years! Not sure you can say that it marks a move into non Brits though - more that McRae drove one so they need to produce one.

a 309?!I havent seen or heard of it being made by them before now.Sounds good. And its not well represented in the diecast world.Hopefully a road version will come out, and the Legacy saloon they are also doing in the future will do, massive hole in the market for older subarus.

Think it might be a good while before it comes out though. Got to see the pre production models of the full Colin McRae range - will be late 2011 / early 2012 before they are all out though  Looks like its a nice model though!

Well, they were built at Ryton.
On a similar note, this will be why we are getting the Chrysler / Talbot Sunbeam due to it being built at Linwood in Scotland at the Hillman Imp factory but doubt we'll get any of the other Talbots. :o

If thats the case with these, a Bluebird and a 405 would be a good addition to the range, if they have that mindset at the moment.

I'm fairly certain the main reason for the existance of the 309 and Sunbeam models is that they are producing the rally versions as part of the McRae collection. And the McRae collection is very important to Corgi I gather. And seeing as they already have the castings it makes sense to reuse them. So don't be expecting a Bluebird any time soon.

Youre right, is there a mkII escort coming as well though? That car featured heavily in his later life.......But anyway, im still looking forward to the new ones next month, they should be good.So why did corgi change the releases schedule? I know the retailiers and collectors polled for it, but what benefits does it have?

A lot of manufacturers release schedules have been all over the place this year, partly caused by problems with factories in China and the piss poor exchange rate pushing prices up quite considerably.Corgi wanted to get new product out following the takeover but still had massive stocks of old stuff to get rid of first (hence why a lot of Vanguards is available so very cheap new). The McRae collection is something Corgi feel is going to sell in fairly large numbers so was pushed out pretty quickly. (yes, there is a MkII Escort - I have the full list at home so I will dig it out tonight).

I'd like to think a MkII Escort would be something they'd have produced anyway, especially as they're not adversed to re-producing vehicles other companies have already done!

Haha quite true, but it is nice to have uk versions of them. And my budget isnt stretched by vanguards.Heres hoping they do a popular version of it.I managed to win a gama opel kadett caravan e the other day, and its been in an attic for 15 years MIB.I was going to get the minichamps one.............. but god knows where thats gone.
