Mash
No he means anything up to £34.00 is £3.50 on deliverypretty steep postage thoughI just got a Corgi Opel Senator off him though, been looking for a cheap one for ages. Even if the postage doubled the price....That Senator is an excellent model, I must get one. Corgi were masters at everyday cars in the early to mid-80s. Actually if you're on a tight budget I could put a few duplicates/surplus stuff your way for the price of the postage - gets them out of my way. Always happy to get someone started like I did many, many, many years ago
brammy777
mash tell me more what you got?I love those 80s corgis cars, i also have the MKIII escort. But thats its. Along with the Senator.
Mash
mash tell me more what you got?I love those 80s corgis cars, i also have the MKIII escort. But thats its. Along with the Senator.Off the top off my head:MetroHonda PreludeTriumph AcclaimBMW 3 seriesNot mint but very good examples, I would say better than that Maestro in the main. It's mainly stuff I got when I was a kid and have got better examples of since. There's a few Corgi Juniors/Matchbox stuff too if that floats your boat. I take it everyday cars are what you're mostly after? I'll take some photos and have a look through the boxes at the weekend and send you a PM. MrRegieRitmo
I got shot of a few of mine, the 1/36 Corgi & Matchbox type stuff as I decided they were toys & as my collection needed trimming down I would concentrate on 'collectors models' in 1/43. They went via the bay a few years ago, things like a Peugeot 505 saloon in red, a green Talbot Matra Rancho, a black & silver R5, a yellow & black R5 turbo, my British Gas MkIII Escort 55 van, my British Telecom set (2 x MkIII Escort vans, 1 x Ford Cargo box truck, 1 x generator), in fact I'm not sure what else I got rid of & what I've actually still got! The perils of having boxes & boxes of models packed away in garages Edit: I do/did have the Senator in gold I know that...

MrRegieRitmo
I know it shouldn't bother me but it does, this seller really winds me up, I'm always looking at his stuff. It annoys me that A) he always has models that I'm looking for, he always puts no effort into his auctions, spewing out the same bloody thing on each one, going on & on about how rare & desirable they are in a completely OTT way making you think 'hang on, I've read this somewhere before?' 'Oh yeah on every bloody one of his auctions!' and C) linked probably to B, he always gets top top prices for his models, more than I would want to pay, even though he starts them at like 99p or something, just because he goes on & on about how much of an investment they are & people are taken in by it. To sum up, he's a bastard & I envy his success! (at the same time as being pissed off by it, the guy must rake it in & rake it in!) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WOW-MINICHAMPS-1- ... 286.c0.m14

Guest
Here's my current pile. I used to have a geet big collection of 1:43 and 1:18 stuff, but most of it is in the loft at home now. I haven't bought models in ages, but I found myself in Arromanches (again) on holiday and found a tat shop with some interesting cars in for 5 Euros each. I used to go to Bowlers frequently but haven't been for a while. Here's what I got: Peugeot 405 T16 Rallye Raid (Norev)Peugeot 205 Rallye Raid (Norev)Renault 4 F6 Darty (unknown)Renault 7 TL 1979 (unknown). And here's what's still out: Battered JOAL 1:43 Renault 10 that was a pressie off a friend of mine. Vitesse Renault Twingo from 1993 that I bought new, in 1993. Mixture of Matchbox (1:32?) Superfast Ferrari 512 BB, Ford XR4i, a 1:43 Volvo PV544 Safari (don't know the make) and the JOAL Renault 10 again.I still have a pile of Matchbox Superfasts left at my grans, and am slowly nicking them back off my vile cousin. Mainly because they're mine and he doesn't look after them, the smarmy little turd. 1:43 Norev Peugeot 205 Rallye Raid from Arromanches. 1:43 Norev Peugeot 405 Rallye Raid Matchbox Audi Quattro Superfast nicked from grans. Renault 4 F6 Darty from Arromanches. This is fatha Wat's, he used to have a silver Espace. Vitesse Laguna Touring Car. This came from a dealer (J&E) who got it signed by Frank Williams for me at the London Motor Show in 1995 I think. Renault 7 TL from Arromanches. This looks like the yellow Spanish registered one Lobster has for sale, except mine is mint green and has a French reg. Did FASA Renault even sell them in France? 1:18 scale Revell BMW Isetta. 1:18 scale Maisto Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454. Isetta and Chevelle. Tamiya QD 2WD Monster Beetle. Battered to fuck and absolutely adored, still works perfectly. Greenvanman had a gold 4WD one he built that I used to look at.......... Finally, the best thing ever - a garage that my grandad made me for my 5th birthday. I stole this back off my vile cousin who'd knackered it right up. Fat fucking chance you're having it, you little shit. Lobster, please PM me when that grey Minichamps Amazon comes in!

morris_ital_lover
Not a fan of your cousin then Wantabe! ! Nice cars though, I thought the renault 7 was primarily for export and not the french market, and I haven't yet seen a actual french reg one!m0rris

brammy777
reg if your still tempted by the hillman avenger 'top hat' heres a pic of my one.and one of the Vanguards capriVery good models, Vanguards seems to be going from strength to strength, the differance between this and even the ones made in 04 are insane, its also very hard to believe that the P4 i have from 1997 is by the same manufacturer (sort of)
MrRegieRitmo
Those are 2 very nice models right there which I will endeavour to get at some point. You're on a bit of a spree at the moment I see! I'm in one of the quietest model buying periods I've been for a long while due to circumstances mainly out of my control. I think a trip to Brighton late June or early July was the last time I bought any models & neither of them was for me, both duplicates to sell
brammy777
No reg youre right, i am on a spree haha. Its probably to make up for the fact i didnt get anything for the best part of a few years, i entered that whole 'puberty' stage and this fell by the wayside. But now i dont care and im making up for it hahaits affecting my wallet a bit now, ill need to calm down soon. Running out of space too.
MrRegieRitmo
I'm still not sure about the chunky number plates on the Vanguards models to me they look a bit daft, like they belong on the front of the Flintstones vehicles carved out of stone! MrRegieRitmo
Speaking of cameras, what do you use? I really need something that's good at close up pictures of small subjects like that, especially for when I put things on eBay!
brammy777
yeh youre right, i have noticed that, the weird thing is they dont do it on every model, just a select few. The avenger and the princess are the most noticeable ones. I wish they would use proper font, but i suppose that would cost more.I seem to remember Corgi releasing a MKI transit fire vehicle with SERCK plates before. I would buy the more expensive minichamps models, but i dont have the money at all, plus i have a slight attachment to Vanguards haha.camera? my phone camera is 8.1 megapixels, and the macro was turned on, really does help the upclose detail! But if you want a good digital camera, anything by samsung or sony is good.

brammy777
yeh the c905 I think they cost alot at the moment by themselves, i managed to get it on contract from vodafone at £30 a month, for 18 months.I just got the schabak ford escort through the post, lovely model, fragile though! if i accidently dropped it ever, itd fall apart. Guest
C905? innov8?Most of the recent Sony Ericsson camera phone would be decent enough. All of my shots (including a couple I've had displayed - sorry trumpets off) were off either my K850i (2MP) or my C902 (5MP). I don't like flash photography, especially on the C902 as it's massively overpowered. I have to admit I've never chased phones and technology, but the C905 is massively tempting for its camera and the fact it's a proper Walkman phone, which means you get some decent in ear buds and the EQs aren't pish. I rated my K850i over my iPod - but that was a 4G with those stupid pish white things that just screamed 'ROB ME' to any scrote on the Metrolink.
