Daniel R25 Posted July 12, 2008 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Hi,that does not sound too bad.However, it has the AR4 auto transmission that will only last if taken care of:Get the ATF changed quickly (every 30tmiles) and check the fan of the gearbox oil cooler (important to keep the temp down, located in front of nearside front wheel - it is always stuck and can even set the car on fire).The ATF can only be changed by a Renault dealer of someone with the diagnostic computer XR25! 55bloke Posted July 12, 2008 Share Posted July 12, 2008 Hmm, does indeed sound nice, though I agree the auto box, especially coupled to the V6 can be problematical. Touch wood, the one in my 2litre TXE is working fine. There's a local automatic transmision specialist who changed the fluid in mine no bother- just put in as much new fluid as he drained out old. Oh, and the engine-oil dipstick seems to work ok if you shove it down the filler tube- the notch is even in about the right place! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
