Guest
Hi im new here, niel up top showed me the link yesterday, that shed of a yellow van is mine, its a beast. gonna have to watch her if people are taking sneaky snaps while im at work. Welcome! Hope you don't mind about the van being posted, can take it off if you like. I do try to be careful about not saying where things are too precisely - all I will say is that wasn't the sort of thing I'd expect to see parked up at that establishment defo not the sort of car. haha they love it though, would you believe i work on the boyracer area aswell. they dont agree. seth
And some abandoned children…Daaaad. Do you have to take photos of all of the slightly old cars? Magnette does like quite nice. I like the black Saab on the Inca wheels too. Oh, and Katie thinks she saw an Ami estate today quite close to home!
Guest
More…Lovely pair of ‘60s cars, don’t know which one I prefer most. Landcrab for the comfort and the 1800 power Looks good too
Dead_E23
Excellent pictures - they remind me of classic car shows in the early 80s when you could expect to see a good number of obscure cars turn up, often in absolutely hanging condition. Somehow, a field full of over restored MGBs and Morris Minors all with their period picnic hampers open on the back seat doesn't have quite the same appeal. Even worse if the owners attempt to 'dress the part' - ugh.
pandamonium
It was indeed me! I get around. The 'raked' Chevette belongs to a girl on another site, I'll pass on your views on it!
Mash
I often find that the variety of cars in the classics car park at Newark autojumble is much more interesting than a lot of the shows I've been to and the cars are obviously used and enjoyed.Actually, since the jumble is pretty much pants these days it's the highlight of the event
Spottedlaurel
Crikey! Three months since an update. Damn, this house business has been going on longer than I thought, and we've still not got broadband there yet after over a month... Anyway, the spots are building up on my PC. These were on my camera which I had to download for work: I have the pleasure of seeing this twice a week, going to knock on the door or leave a note soon as it's rather nice. Arches repaired, but still rather desirable. Remnants of a Mk2, pre-facelift? Been glimpsing this for several years, now it's on my commute I made the effort to stop and find out what it was. I knew there was more than just a pile of random scrap. 305, facelift? Worth stopping, as they also had this Aggro estate in the classic brown. And some building shite, ex-MoD. View will change soon as I'm working on a big factory which will sit just behind this. Nice pairing of '70s house and caravan (or is it older than that?). Lots more to come soon. Mr_Bo11ox
Wow, that subaru is pretty tidy, high roof 1800GL like mine. Cant wait for mine to hit the road, I have had the engine out and fixed the tappets + clutch, putting a pair of new front wings on it at the moment, I am optimistic that its gonna turn into a nice machine when I have finished fannying about with it.. Richard
The caravan looks like a Carlight, which is supposed to be the Rolls Royce of caravans. If that's in any kind of decent condition it'll be worth a fortune.
55bloke
That caravan does look a lovely thing- nice to see a more interesting colour scheme. But, those Carlight all look to have a two piece, raked windscreen rather than the flat one piece affair on this one.
pogweasel
Great spotting as ever. I am particularly enamoured by the ornamental Allegro and the rather picturesque architechture on display in pic 5. Is it a Lutyens? No?..... oh....
Spottedlaurel
Yay!! Six weeks after notifying my suppliers of the move, I'm finally back online at the new place. That should slow down productivity on the house and garden nicely... Quite a lot lot to catch up on, starting off back in the days when we had snow: The view outside my old front door in early February. R5 was Wuvvum's and the Accord is now with Mash. Fortunately the Laurel hardtop won't have to sit outside in weather like this any more. Owner of this very odd, some lady in her 50s/60s who seemed to be having a problem and was being assisted to the car by staff. Hence no shot of the front end, which would have shown the nicely peeling bonnet. Regularly see this delightfully crusty line-up as the classic garage they live at is in the next village to us and the farm shop shares their car park. All still there some two months from taking this, turnover a bit slow. For Mk2_Craig #1. Still a bit tenuous taking pic's of these, but nearly 20 years old now. A 120Y or Sunny of that age 10 years ago would have been quite a sight. Belongs to a colleague of R-Rer/OJCer Stuyizz. Amusing when you know which dealership he works for and you look at the state of this... Not sure how much he wanted for this. Block paving on nextdoor's drive slightly spoils the '80s timewarp look here. Sid n' Doris owners, naturally. I should leave a note, though they'll probably think I'm a banger racer. Posted before, but always worth seeing again. These suddenly appeared at a farm near my old place, presumably dragged out of a barn. Went a week or two later, presumably weighed in. For M. Bolleaux. Laurel's ben in regular use. Not really a spot but I liked this pic. This might end up as a trackday car. In drifting circles it's a Onevia (180SX front on Silvia body). Possibly came here via USAF personnel. New car for my old neighbours, I do like the 309. This'll doubtless end up knackered just like everything else they've had previously. Wuv's old 323 just about to be dragged round to temporary storage, pre-move. Snowing again... And the 323 sharing the temporary storage with the dead Laurel. Thanks Tonto! On one of his several journeys to my house to deal with the above (ahem, something to do with misplaced keys) Wuvvum came over in this. Not quite so straight now though... Camry did a good job on the move. This is my entire brochure collection, probably worth 10-20 times what the car is http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x58/Spottedlaurel/Spotteds%20Spottings/DSCN8679.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x58/Spottedlaurel/Spotteds%20Spottings/DSCN8674.jpg My first post-move spot, what a way to start! Judging from where else I've seen it parked up, belongs to some new-agey kind of traveller guy. My Ladybird books on commercial vehicles are still packed away, is this a Commer or Bedford? Still more to come, but it's taking me all bloomin' day to get the above done (interspersed with family visits and house/garden stuff including pumping out the septic tank - country life). mk2_craig
Thanks for the early model Fiesta picture; appreciated! The vehicle details for DFR 706S are: Date of Liability 01 05 2008 Date of First Registration 01 10 1977 Year of Manufacture 1972 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1098CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Due to Expire Vehicle Colour BLUE Strange to see a Minor on such a late plate. reallyloud
I know what you mean about these things, but even 10 years ago a Sunny of the same age would have possibly tempted us with leaving contact details. I wouldn't even dream of stalking the owner of this car. Is that a earlier Carlton mk2 next to the expired senator? It wouldn't surprise me if that Senator was used by the police once. That 309 is astonishingly clean, I used to drive a light blue D reg one for a while, quite nice to drive really.
Spottedlaurel
Mk2_Craig, I hadn’t noticed the Minor being on an S-plate. Old style one plate, probably dates from the time when if they gave a car a new number (reimported or whatever) it was just whatever was current, not age-related.Predictably, Minors seem to be their thing there. I don’t know if those prices include an MoT, but all of that line-up will need major work fairly soon I would say. They run a Maestro van for the business.DC, yes the other car behind the Senator was a Carlton. Possibly coincidence, but some years ago there was another local farm that had a Monza rotting away in the weeds.About 309s, I like them too. Never driven one of the smaller-engined versions but the 1.6GR I eventually wrote off was very pleasant despite its slightly dubious history. I’d happily have a late TD for work duties but as the Camry fulfils so many roles very well right now I’m in no hurry to add anything sensible to the fleet. Adrian_pt
Sweet shots. The lorry's an Austin/Morris, I think a WE or WF. They carried on making them right until 1981 although the cabin design is from the mid '50s.
Spottedlaurel
Thanks Adrian_pt! Think this'll exhaust what's currently on the PC: Traffic moves sufficiently slowly in our new local town that on-the-move snaps are easy. Think the higher-spec Sunny N13's with body-colour bumpers are quite smart. For Pog. Patina. Sid driver. Left a note on this one. Odd how much bluer it is than mine. Also, later 2.2 saloons got 15" wheels it would seem, but early on they had rather puny-looking 14's. Wahey, what a car! Note manual one too, and a suitably elderly driver (visible in the bottom shot, that's not me). Think Baz or Wuv's have snapped this before but I managed to catch up with the owner. Nice old boy, had it 18 years or so. Going to help him with one or two bits, hopefully in return it will end up here when he no longer needs it or the MoT gets too much hassle. Lucky spot when this R4 was caught up in traffic in Cambridge. The R5 hoard seems to have gone though, sadly. As ever, these make me wonder why CF campers are more plentiful than Transits. Work took me past Snetterton one lunchtime and I couldn't resist poppoing in. MG and Lotus track day so not much there to interest us, but this 1275GT was nice. Metro was amusingly fast. This was in pleasingly tired condition, though went well if I recall. Round the back of the Sunday Market next to the circuit. The LD Cav I now drive past every day, and seemingly in regular use. 323 off to pastures new. Been some interesting progress on this it would seem, should see some 'after' pictures later. Few more to come...
Spottedlaurel
Think is the final batch getting me up-to-date. Slight leap back in time halfway through after using another camera. Familiar dealer to anybody here? Land Rovers of varying descriptions come and go at this place. It's just up the road from where I saw the green (old) R-reg Lada estate that Wuvvum saw in Norwich one night. I described it to new AS recruit TheScrapman and he saw it in Ipswich not long after. Clearly being used well. Haul from a local charity shop. Possibly of interest to Pog and Keef? Singer Vogue one is the pre-Arrow car, 1100 one seems to cover all variants. I think I can think of a suitable home for the R6 one... 'Workshop' still neds sorting... But this end is starting to get used for model at least. 323 stock car at what was my local yard. Doesn;t seem to have been used much. Basically what's in the yard is for racing, they weigh everything else in. So I imagine this'll be on the track one day. Think this has been there for a while. Wonder if they'll be racing those aluminium Jag's in years to come?... For MilfordCubicle. Mildly modded Mk2, think I prefer the standard blue one previously posted. Typical Norfolk garden ornament. Perhaps I should do this with my dead Laurel?

Milford Cubicle
That Justy is in an unusual colour. Their numbers seem to be depleting quickly, I haven't seen any on the road for a while but I did see a completely rotten/bumperless van being used as a farm hack. r.welfare
I possibly think the "stock car" is a Mk2 Polo Coupe - look at the shape of the door handles (or at least where they mount), the bonnet's leading edge, the rear pillars and the front wheel is defo VW.Great haul as ever, SL. mk2_craig
I would tend to agree these days that a stock standard mk2 Fiesta is a more pleasing sight than one with XR2 pepperpots wanged on, etc. Nice colour though. As I'm rapidly turning into a numberplate nazi I don't mind admitting my thorough dislike for those fitted to this car, how many Ford ovals do you need FFS. Spottedlaurel
Shamefacedly, I have to admit the stock car probably is a Polo coupe - it was the rear pillar that confused me Anyway, managed to see a few more things recently: Amusing pairing. My son seems to have latched onto Mini as being the first car he can identify. Looks like a safari park refugee. Fairly low-spec and remarkably unmolested R32 Skyline. Traveller didn't look to have travelled anywhere for a while. Seem to have seen a few Mk2's recently, but vans pretty rare. Sign in window reads Not For Sale, obviously fed up with people knocking on the door wanting to scrap it for him. Lovely paint job. Thames a bit less good than the ones I saw at Henham. Not sure what was under the tarp, maybe a van version? Same place had this, looked a bit more healthy. P-reg, seen at a bootsale on a local caravan site. From where over the fence I also saw this lot. Note Escort GL/Ghia and Metro van. In the next village to us, don't know if it opens as a proper yard or is just a racer's stash. Think I prefer this rear end than the original, loks crisper. Lovely, seen from my office window. Had actually seen it elsewhere in town but managed to get these better pic's. That's all for now. Off to a one or two different places this weekend so hoping to see a few new things.
