The continuing saga:

Posted Image

This did a lap of the ring with the header in full operation!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Lots of tractors there, 150+ I think? The latter was a bit mad, had an ex-MF combine V8 (Perkins?) and various bits of D-series lorry.

Posted Image

Been a while since I'd seen a Midi.

Posted Image

This was a turbodiesel. I do think these Carltons are very nicely-styled.

Posted Image

Looks spot-on.

Posted Image

I can't help thinking this would look absolutely perfect behind my Laurel. Next year, maybe...

Posted Image

Bought at the show, beautiful downtown Swaffham (where Kingdom is filmed). The 120Y was registered PNG818R and died in 1987.

Posted Image

Cracking-looking 800.

There was an excellent range of stuff at this show, we really enjoyed it. Might stay over next year, as ScrapMan and family did this year.

1992 Camry 2.2GL (definitely just for spares now); 1993 Camry Estate 2.2GL on the road again!!

And a couple of modern Toyotas

Ace spost SL! Love the V8 tractor, I imagine that would be a Perkins. I wonder what car you could fit one of those in. Maybe a Jag XJ12 or soemthing.that 800 is top notch also, rare to see one with all the bits of trim lining up correctly! It looks GR8.

Nice spots! I was looking at the you-tube video of that v8 tractor a while back. It is a Perkins. I believe the D-series was available with this engine so not sure if the other bits came from that too.

On we go. This lot from Norfolk Gala Day, early Spetember.

Posted Image

This looked just right, chrome 8-spokes the period budget choice to a set of slotmags.

Posted Image

Posted Image

I liked this Ventora.

Lovely clean Marina, excellent original plates.

Cracking Viva 2300. Bit of a Q-car in its day?

Posted Image

Bit different from the usual CF ambulance.

Posted Image

This looked great. Don't often see the Cargo as a tractor unit.

Posted Image

This comes from pretty local to me and I sometimes have the pleasure of seeing it hauling grain or sugarbeet.

Posted Image

In more appropriate condition to us.

Don't see these Vanettes so often nowadays. Spanish-built, you know.

Hurrah! My old Starlet.

Nice tight panel gaps on that Transit! Looks like someone has drawn round them all with a chisel tip marker pen.

Hey that Escort's proper nice, just how I like them.

The Transit bus reminds me of the ones we got in Beverley when I was a kid in '85 exactly the same as that for local town service. I remember them vividly lined up in the market place on the first day of service when any trip was 1p!

One time me and a mate decided we wouldn't get off at our stop and spend a bit of time going up and down the route - we got a right bollocking from the driver
I dont no wot there worth tbh mate only wont it for pre 68 obvserly lol hav u got any pics plz mate

Update with a few more recent finds and sightings:

Posted Image

Yay! I met a Toyota dealer in the week, he said his father regards the Camry as the best car Toyota has ever made. I desperately hope after Christmas I'll have the cash to pick one up.

Posted Image

Posted Image

For sale at £34,500! I wonder how many Morrison's customers were tempted? Owner had probably popped in to make sure he got some of those "Buy 1 Get 2 Free" Pringles.

Posted Image

Living the dream.

Posted Image

Posted Image

OK, so the SL was a cracking-looking car but this Carlton estate is the best thing I think I've seen in ages. DVLA says it's a 1986 2.2, I say it's utterly delightful. Vauxhall did a great job with this facelift.

Posted Image

A fairly typical sight for me, as the farmers are always hauling stuff into the local metal yard. This 205 was a panel van.

Oops, didn't mean to submit just then. Some more...

Posted Image

Posted Image

This Mk4 was pretty clean, though rot evident on one of the arches. An '89, same as my Bluebird.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

I want to live here and/or own this place! Within half a mile of a route I've been driving on for years, in a very desolate area of north Suffolk on the edge of a WWII airfield. Long may it remain like this. I think the garage business has moved to newer/larger buildings behind it, I imagine they get some interesting stuff coming into them. I've been daydreaming about what it was like 30-40 years ago.

Posted Image

This 323F GLX was very clean.

Posted Image

Hirst alert! I think the elderly driver may have clocked that I was taking a picture of his car, and not the buildings behind as I was badly pretending to.

Posted Image

Posted Image

I see so few of the facelift versions around of these that I didn't realise how the rear lights had got bigger. That being the case, I'd rather have an earlier one as the skinny back lights were what I remember about them even when new.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Compare and contrast with the other 1.6GL I saw recently. That was OK, but this one looked super-clean and much nicer in metallic blue.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Another E-reg survivor. This one not so tidy though.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Hang on, have I stepped back in time to 1988? All the above seen within a few minutes of each other. This sharp-looking BX lists as a 16v. I still haven't done anything about that white one...

Posted Image

Got a photo of this from a couple or so years ago with my Accord 3dr. Good to see the Serck plate on the back (sadly had a modern replacement on the front).

Posted Image

I reckon these would still make a good daily. Shame about the rot.

Posted Image

Oddball '95 Charade with unhealthy amount of colour-coding.

Posted Image

My turn to see the 323 which ChinaTom recently posted on here.

Posted Image

Taken a photo here before. Some stuff new, others still not shifted, They seem to be even more into Minors now. Some may find the Probe of more interest...

Posted Image

This is on a C-plate. I think the Citroen van in the background was briefly stuck up on a pole for advertising purposes, but it looks like someone objected.

Posted Image

Rare to see now, and my recollection is that the vans were never quite so common as the pickups.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Having never seen this before, I then saw it twice in the same day.

I think the Mk5/6 Escorts are fairly horrid devices, but must admit that the RS2000 wasn't bad. This one looked to be a belter.

That carlton estate is buff! Top spot. There is a RS2000 in Basingstoke which is similar, i might try and grab a picture of it soon. Its the facelifted front end one though. Those two MKIV escorts have identical twins round here, I presume the colours were popular. Along with olympic blue of course.

VWP, i think the RS2000 you have got a picture of there is an earlier one, MKV prefacelift, which would mean around 1991? I might be wrong but the front end is the same as the XR3i of the same period and i know they changed post facelift.

From the last couple of months, reasonably productive now I see them all together:

Posted Image

Looked tidy, old-ish couple owners.

Posted Image

Sorry I couldn't get a photo of the front end...

Posted Image

Minus snow, the sight that greets me every day as I step out the front door or glance up from the PC.

Posted Image

Going back in time a bit here, 20+ years ago. Stepdad owned this, and surely a beige 924 has to be on these pages?

Posted Image

And here he is with one of his earlier cars. Back to the present day...

Posted Image

Baleno saloon. Will surely be extinct in a few years' time?

Posted Image

Bluebird on the day I sold it to Pandamonium. Such a clean car, defintely one of my best buys.

Posted Image

Not sure if this is counting as a best buy yet. But I do like it, and as long as the garage don't find anything too awful on it when it goes in for a service then I'll gradually work through the issues as it's a car I want to keep for a while. Wuvvum, might need to talk to you about my old estate soon, it might be useful...

Posted Image

Posted Image

A not-so-common JDM import.

Posted Image

Posted Image

GTII, non-scene roofbars? Horrible day.

Posted Image

Best shot Mrs SL could get as we overtook this. Might not look too exciting from here, so...

Posted Image

Here it is seen at a show. Great to see it still working, it was on the beet run to the factory at Bury St Edmunds.

Posted Image

Probably should have put this on the number plates thread.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Thanks to stepdad for these photos too, he's also useful on the current stuff. If you're keen and look back far enough you should see this on different wheels when it was parked on another local driveway.

Posted Image

Nautoshite seen on a rather bleak day in The Fens.

Posted Image

Mystery car, best photo I could get. Peugeot 204 estate?

More to come...

Low-spec looking BX.

Posted Image

Firebirds. DVLA says the '80s one is a 2.8.

Posted Image

Posted Image

If you're going to visit The Fens, may as well go when it looks like this. Not just odd-cabbed tractors this place, Land Rover LWB visible too...

Posted Image

Hello, what's that in the shed?

Posted Image

Rusty!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

This warranted three photos I thought.

Posted Image

Again, the keener of you may recall a shot of the back of this that I took before.

Posted Image

Sinister.

Posted Image

Had I been a minute earlier you'd have seen a shot of this G-reg Thema parked up, but once I'd parked and ran around the corner I saw it drive off and this was the best I could do. Trigger will recognise the location with the rather impressive viaduct in the background.

Posted Image

MoT-patched sill notwithstanding, this early small-light Micra looked tidy.

Posted Image

This place needs buying and for it to sell our sort of rubbish.

Posted Image

More tractor shite. I'm sure these Zetros were imported by the Skoda people. Black and silver plate on a T-reg, must've still been legal for them?

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

And finally, another one dserving of trois photos. LHD, DVLA says only imported last year. Saw it driving along later, yellow lights glowing. Excellent.

DVLA lists the Econoline as ’73, imported in 2005 I think. 5-litre apparently.

I think the 420 you mentioned is a Daimler Sovereign. The green one on wires? It did look very smart, though I noticed some odd paint colours when I looked back at my photos. See below for something even nicer in that vein.
