how about shipping back MK1 and 2 Escorts , selling them rot free here for a million quid each

and we can all retire !!

Dullness like old RWD Escorts when there's so much other quality tat to find down under?? Like this country needs any more than we have already?

Well yeah ok, but only if the proceeds funded a mass influx of P76s 8)

Also...shite much more expensive in Australia then here...plus our $ is weaker than OZ...also mild recession beginning to bite so people dumping cars..plus our vast elderly population popping off means grandpas collection getting disposed off..and more classic cars than the buying public can consume...hopefully going to look at a Riley Kestrel 1300 this weekend..at 100 quid gotta be worth a sniff..

I  the P76, it's just like the generic American cars they have in Playstation games 8) There are a few in the UK already (and I think it really is about 3!) and one was for sale on ebay a few months ago. If I'd have had cash available at the time I'd probably have spent it on a P76 and then had to spend the rest on a divorce. Are there different specs of P76? You'd want a V8, not the straight 6 obviously. I think power steering was only an option and I bet the unassisted one would be GR8 4 LUKIN LIKE A 70Z FILM, winding the steering wheel around half a turn on a dead straight road

Twas £995 from Sydney to Soutampton (plus taxs etc). However when I enquired about a 2 series 1959 Datsun in vancouver -half the distance- £1600! Blamed it on the fule -and slwoer cruising times.Ruled that out then -and me probably outr of the International market till fuel stabilises -or I go upmarket!

There are still some out there -but Er' Indawes says we need more modern 'Exotica' next- she feels there's to much mundanity around -so thats prob the next move (after I've sneaked the Florian back & thru the finances!)But -thats not really for this Forum.

Oh I don't know about that! I've spied your modern stuff & plenty of it is still 'of interest' & still a talking point for people on here I would imagine!(I'm thinking about your Saabs & Fiat Coupe here)

This is a very rare example of Leyland's mighty Marina.

Aussie assembled with a 2623cc six cylinder engine, the same as the P76.

Factory 3 speed manual, on-the-floor.

Has a ton of grunt!! last owner had it from 1978 until just recently.

There are reciepts for engine rebuild a few years back.

body is very tidy and finished in factory white with tan vinyl roof. Paint is okay condition mostly original so has the odd mark here and there but pretty good for its age.

Great one for all you Morris / BMC / Leyland collectors.

you are welcome to view.

Pricing was ro-ro, containerising shite effectively prices it out...Thanks Regie -appreciate the view, but the Fiat Coupe, Saabs etcetra is just everyday shite.I want Cerbera, she wants Boxster.... so not for here really. (oh apologies for awful spelling- fat fingers, dim room, too much haste etc -sorry!!!)

Ooo wow, sorry I just assumed you meant that sort of thing as to me a Fiat Coupe is modern exotica! If you're in the market for 'real exotica' even better for you! Just quite a departure from your usual tastes, or my perception of your usual tastes that's all!

I'll confess to having a barn full of the stuff, Ferrari's;Porsche's Masers, E types, Healeys &a few yanks, etc -but had a change of direction about 8 years ago and got bored with them. So barned them. Her -stress her- suggestion that we get another impractical toy to see if we want to recommission any of the existing, leave them 'barned' or flog 'em. I think its a good un -now we just need to agree type etc!
