Now that's a proper yard - none of this EU Directive guff about only stacking the cars 3-high, "just lob 'em on top of anything, anywhere...but make sure that you only stack Mk3 Astra saloons on top of Morris Minors!" Superb. That Ital estate and 1100 are a bit mangled - looks like you were lucky to get your 'Rolla out in one piece!

Wow so that's what happened to all the MkIII Astra saloons! Never warmed to them, they looked far less neat than a Belmont & that's saying something. Equally boring though but at least a Belmont is now an interesting sight due to rarity.I thought Scimitars didn't rust? :?Is that a 626 squashing that Robin? (or just a MkI Mondeo saloon?)

Cool, I love scrappies like that. Incidentally isn't that a Pug 305(?) van in the fifth picture? It's behind the blue Moggy and the sexy Mk3 Ashtray saloon.

is that the yard behind castle motors? 8)

Yes it is............ Hardings!!! 8) To be honest I couldnt answer your questions about the other cars in the yard as it was earlier this year and I dont go there often!! However, not much seems to move out once its got in!!!

looks like you were lucky to get your 'Rolla out in one piece!

The Yard owner wanted to keep it for himself as he wanted to turn it into a stock car! However my mate knew him and persuaded him to sell it to me as I wanted to restore it!! :D

Is it not something bigger & bonneted like an Iveco Daily?

Could be actually, though what appears to be a chrome door handle is throwing me off a bit.I have a particular aversion to Ivecos after spending a few years driving them

The Marina Estate is an Ital (Shital), look at the door handles! The Dolomite is a rare four door Toledo - the fridge in the A35 seems to be a structural member. If you want to see a really good scrapyard, go to Smiths of Bloxham (Banbury). At least five Minors, a Wols 4/44, Morris MO Oxford, an Isis, three Landcrabs, Ro80 etc. All in the last 3-4 weeks as well.

Why do they keep stuff like that Marina? Surely it's no good for anything apart from fragging.I think you're right about the 305 Cavette, and that's definitely a 626 saloon Reg.

I dunno, I'm starting to think it's a Mongdeo too. Door handles, steering wheel and dash vents do look like they belong to one. It also appears to be an Si model judging by the back bumper. I do, however, stand to be corrected but want to see proof!

You're all wrong. The Robin-crusher is quite clearly a KIA MENTOR.What? Thanks I would love another pint....

..This is what made me think it might be something interesting, but you cant make the pic out well enough to decide if it is indeed chrome or not.

that's the badger! christ, aint been in there in years! Last time was between christmas & new year, me & my mate were down there in howling winds & driving rain with 2 poxy trolley jacks trying to jack LT35 up on soft ground, it had a bloody escort balancing on it's roof just to make it that bit more interesting!Christ knows how we managed it, but we jacked it up, removed both rear wheels. 'For what' i hear you cry.. for 10 bastard wheel studs to my mate could fit them to his T25 and wang on the merc pentas he had in his shed! too tight to pay main stealer prices (although tbh i think they were summat like 7 quid each!)

Quality scrappie! The more people say they dislike MK3 Astra Saloons makes me warm to them - some sort of perverse notion that they will be so derided as to become almost extinct one day. Or something. I think the Ital has starred in a Monster Truck Show somehow

"Top 10 most frightening family cars"I recognise that old-style one, but the new-style one is lost on me!What's so frightening about a Kia Mentor? Surely it should be "disappointing" or something.

No it's alot worse than disappointing, think scary! :shock:http://cars.uk.msn.com/News/Top_ten_article.aspx?cp-documentid=2597375
