Volksy Posted June 21, 2008 Share Posted June 21, 2008 Spotted this in a local supermarket carpark, Its a Honda Insight Hybrid. Had a chat with the lady in the picture, she said her husband imported it from Japan about ten years ago, and she absolutly loves it, apparently its still on its original batteries, and returns aroun 85+ to the gallon! I thought you never actually "own" the batteries on a hybrid though - they remain the property of the manufacturer? Could be totally wrong, as usual, of course. Seem to be popular with the Grey Brigade round here.45mpg is truly appalling really isn't it? Especially if that is 'constant speed' motoring. I should imagine any current 1.6-litre bland-hatch could match that with ease. On the subject of scrooge-driving, managed to eak an average of 67mpg out of the SprogDiesel wagon last night on a trip to Gatwick. GR8 4 ILLEGAL MINICABBING.
