Pov spec edition, with added extras:

4 Seats

No wheel trims

No boot liner

No parcel shelf

No rear head restraints

No height adjustable seat

And it's badged an STI, which must be one of the most unfortunate bloopers since the KA Si

Wow, real pov spec. It's even got black door handles and mirrors instead of body-coloured ones.£7795 is a bit steep for the level of luxury you're getting... Probably a cop car, but no head restraints and no parcel shelf????Maybe the parts department plundered it before it got to the showroom?

That's a real oddity. I thought parts plundering as well - the towing eye cover is missing from the front bumper - but if it's come from the factory without height adjustment on the seat? And only 4 seatbelts? Must be cancelled order - from who I'd like to know! Government agency of some kind seems most likely.Presumably the OTR price of the "standard" base Grande Punto ain't far off £7795...and no doubt Motorpoint and Trade Sales are banging 'em out under 6k new anyway.

Did a bit of Googling - it's based on the 1.2 Active which is £8500 retail. So if you bought this heap of shit, and then went around back to the parts department for four £40 wheeltrims, a parcel shelf and four head restraints you'd be looking at the same cost as a "proper" Punto with five seats and a height adjustable seat...:roll::roll:

Yep, I think it is ST1, but STI seems more appropriate...I wondered why the sales people didn't get the parts department to get the trims/boot liner/tow eye cover/parcel shelf and bling it up. But then it is a Fiat dealership we're talking about

It had me at "white only, no wheeltrims".It`s also being advertised with a Fish & Chip shop flourescent star. This is what we need, the return of the "base" edition, and 1980`s levels of utter contempt for the customer that wishes to buy the cheapest spec. I don`t suppose its got a 4 spd box? Any blanking plates that you could see? Do you reckon if you gave them £8000 for it they`d black the bumpers and have the area around the grille done in elephant`s arse finish grey?

Still, at £29.95 per week with no deposit I'll bet there will be enough idiots queueing up for one  Must be a cancelled fleet order but you'd think they would make the effort with wheeltrims and a parcel shelf. Still, most buyers will probably buy the car (on finance of course) then end up paying extra for the trims and parcel shelf.

It'd probably be less embarassing to admit to having an sti than owning a Fiat. Can anyone think of one reason the rozzers would actually buy one anyway?Maybe there's a suspected stolen car ring at the Fiat garage? After all that steaming pile of shite is going to spend more time there than on the road, so assuming they can find one part on the whole car that would take the weight of a tiny camera it could be used for a stake out I suppose?

Ah, the reason for missing tow-eye cover perhaps :)

Absolutely BRILLIANT - if you plump for HP, you're stuck paying it off for 5 years! And they illustrate it with a fancier one and don't list the spec, only mentioning that metallic paint is available for extra. So presumably you head down there thinking you'll get something with non-metallic paint, but fully expecting wheel trims and the likes, only to see some sort of sub-povvo version staring back at you. I mean, no headrests, I bet even the base of the commercial version has those!

I also think it's brilliant how on the car they've advertised what it doesn't have, rather than what it does. Really hope the radio area is a huge blanking plate, they don't mention that.

"Delivery mileage with... "

LOL

Meaning "We delivered a bunch of these to the local cops, they took one look and told us to fu*k off. Now we're stuck with two acres of the bloody things we need to shift before the boss sacks the lot of us"

Wouldn't have thought they would have been destined for plod cars to be honest. My guess is they would be for something like meter reading companies / traffic wardens or some other semi official body needing small cars with easy access to the boot.

I trust the oil burning variety is called the STD then????Let's all go back the the Fiesta Mk1.........I had a rubber carpet 950 in toilet duck blue, no ashtry, no rear wiper/heated screen, no clock, single speed wiper/no intermittent, one mirror, oh those were the days. Plan your pull away from a roundabout from 5 cars back in the queue...........Pulling out on to a dual carriageway was smell inducing! Swapped it for a Xr3 lookalike 1.3 Ghia Escort. Which I then swapped for a Mk3 1.6S! I love my old Fords me.
