Today, we set off from Cabourg, which is full of happy campers (now there is a contradiction in terms).

If this is worth photographing for a postcard from Cagnes-sur-Mer, I don't really want to know what a dismal shithole it must be.

Calais.

This metropolis, ready to step up in the World, sure does warrant it's own shite postcard post.

This is such a great thread, but it moves too fast for me to keep up.

It raises some serious question though, like why were there so many Studebakers in Germany? And why are there so many Vedette coupes in postcards? Aren't they supposed to be rare?

By the way, the red roadster is nothing more exotic than a 101-series Giulia/Giulietta

There are more questions.

- Why are there so many DSes and so few R16s despite the latter outsold the former?

- Sames goes for the 2CV vs. R4.

- Why are there so few R6es?

Nah. I guess it has more to do with the Mercedes - Studebaker partnership in the early Fifties.

The GIs didn't drive disproportionately many Studebakers.
