RayMK
Renault 6s rare (Mr Junkman)? They sold at least one - it's next to the Citroen H van . Junkman
Junkman
I also thought Jag Mk2, but there's another perhaps lesser known black car next to a black 404 a couple of rows higher in the photo. I reckon that one could be a Simca Ariane or possibly a Simca Vedette. The car of the card for me is the 17m Badewanne Turnier 4th row 3rd from right.Talk about hens teeth. mercrocker and RayMK
Spottedlaurel
Anything interesting/unusual in either of these? La Place du Palais, Monaco. Sent to an address in Le Havre on 20 June 1964. Some sort of Rootes-mobile at the top, by the wall? Not a lot of non-Italian stuff here in Milan. A couple of Americans, a Beetle and maybe the odd Opel? hennabm
Junkman
The third car in the right row of the B&W card is a Borgward Hansa 2400, which I suggest was special even back then. There is also a Borgward in the Milan postcard, a Hansa 1500.Note that only two cars sport whitewalls, the green Opel Kapitän and a dark Fiat 1100/103 in the upper right corner. mercrocker
Le Havre Rootes chod (next to the DS) looks like a Mk VII/MkVIII Minx convertible. There is the arse end of a '56 Ford wagon in the bottom right hand corner and a 2cv pickup just right of the centre of the card
skoda_fan
Did they ever make a pick-up? I may be wrong but I think it's a van. Continental Europe seemed much more foreign and exotic in those days. I spent some time in France and Germany in the 70's and the cars were totally different to the norm here. I knew a guy who ran a Mini van in France at the time..it seemed very exotic amongst all the 2CVs and R4s. Just wish I'd taken a few pics.

Spottedlaurel
What's the RHD two-tone job in the rightmost row? Next to the Borgward Junkman mentioned? Very well-spotted that it's RHD, maybe an Austin A90? chaseracer and RayMK
pshome
There is the arse end of a '56 Ford wagon in the bottom right hand cornerThis being in near France and a two tone job, it's more likely a Simca Marly.
RayMK
On Frogchod's second postcard (river with bridge), there's a Honda S800 on the waterfront in the viewing line of the head of the street lamp, just past the blue minibus. The start of the Japanese invasion?
mercrocker
Next to the Borgward Junkman mentioned? Very well-spotted that it's RHD, maybe an Austin A90? Yep. Short-arse Westy, colour scheme suggests it might be the short-lived A105 version too. Owner must have been a bit rakish to have ordered those white walls, though... chaseracer

Junkman
Marjeh Square in Damascus. By the mid Sixties, the septic chod had largely been replaced with German quality: Now the German stuff is gone (I wonder why, I thought it never breaks and lasts forever)and you can't park there anymore, of course. Junkman
New York. Like York, but newer. This is Renazé, just another one of those dreary French shitholes with closed shops. Junkman
I just find it weird that the more cars there are, the more they make places cars could park in into vast expanses of fuck all purpose whatsoever.Who has an advantage? What are the benefits?

What are the benefits? It might* just be a coincidence that the same councils that ban all the parking are the ones running the car parks you have to pay to use. Anyone would think they've forgot they are public servants. Junkman

Junkman
Loving these old cards, are they used ? there must be some proper random stuff written on them if so Most of the ones I buy are not used.If they are, it's largely some drivel about the weather and that Tommy got himself a new pair of white socks and sandals. It's rather disappointing really. I'd also have expected some tales about major piss ups and getting laid by mademoiselles, buying some chod and coaxing it into life for the trip home, but sadly the general public always was disturbingly dull. chaseracer
