Dry month, this one.  The only thing of note was a Pontiac Trans Sport on a pressure washer box.

Chunky Lupo at Halfords.  I liked this a lot.

One of the seemingly infinite varieties of Mazda 323.  It was showing it's age a bit but was overall very tidy, had that one-owner-from-new look about it.  I imagine it would look brand new again if you spent a couple of hours on it with cleaning products.

VW Corrado in Nottingham, I think.

A trip to Whitby and only 2 spots for the entire month.  Posh ones though.  First, a Porsche 928GTS.

Second, an Alfa Romeo GTV, a car whose design has aged particularly well IMHO.

We'd had to go to a different Halfords to usual to get the paint I needed since the local branch didn't have any in stock.  Just as well really because there was this brown Mini clubman waiting to be seen.

36104499624_92aaa47f2b_b.jpg201705-01 by Angyl Roper, on Flickr

Reliant Rialto in not-OFaH-replica shocker!  It had a white bonnet too.  It was pretty much perfect in every way and it looked to be an estate with painted windows rather than a proper van for extra bonus points.

36799098221_9cb532ea00_b.jpg201705-02 by Angyl Roper, on Flickr

Hyundai CoupĂ©. Normally, not something that grabs my camera, but the paint on this one did.  It's plastidip so if you don't like it you just peel it off and do it with a different colour.  It looked way better in person too, the colour was much more vibrant.  A great way to spruce up what might have been a tatty looking old thing, as these are wont to be.

Brexit supporter had bought this Triumph because of some unintelligible reason to do with sticking one to the EU by buying British.  He was having an ignition problem which looked to be the same shorting earth wire issue I'd had ages ago with the Princess.  It was a nice enough car without the usual Herald middle-aged spread and quite a lot of it had been brush painted.  Surprisingly little sign of wob and bodge, it just looked like prime giffer transport.

This Landrover doesn't have big steels, it has regular steels and whitewalls.  That shouldn't work, but it really did!  You'll have to take my word for it, long-distance-zoom-camera doesn't really show up the whitewalls as tyres instead of wheels.

I was down south for some of this month when we had that little tiny bit of summer.  There was a hot rod.  It was red.  It was good.  Ford Popular I think.

Good start when spotting this Cortina when it wasn't on the move for once.  There's about three of this age Cortina trundling about locally; this one, a doom blue one and a gold one.

This was neat.  Owner appeared just as I was about to pap it and mentioned it was just a bit too low to be comfortable, sounded like he had owned it just long enough to start changing the previous owner's mods to his own taste, suspension being one of them.  I liked its rough and ready appearance.  Mazda MX-5, obviously.

There's been a good crop thanks to a day at Croft Circuit watching a friend racing.

Honda Del Sol a nice surprise. I hesitate to say rare because this is the fourth one I've seen this year, though it is the only green one.

October
I'm unlikely to spot anything else this month so I'm going to do the picture dump a little early.  October has been better for spots.  First spot was a sad one though in the form of this Honda Civic Hondamatic which has always looked tidy and careworn.  This day, the doors were all stoved in, one rear bumper corner was missing and the front passenger door window was smashed.  Didn't look like an accident, looked more like someone had maliciously gone around the car and done a lot of damage for some reason.  Quite sad to see considering how long and how well it's survived.

It's not a 1994 Jag, not on that body shape.  Is it?  No, must be a personal plate transferred from another car, surely.  Anyway, there was a metallic green T rex on the dashboard and I totally failed to see the driver sat in the car when I very obviously took a photograph.  Rookie error on my part.

LDV 400 with VW fibreglass top grafted on.  This was about the same size as my bungalow and probably had the same sort of fuel economy.

Nice.  Meanwhile, somewhere else in the country a friend of mine spotted this early R8 assuming I'd be interested in it, which I am.  I don't know if the smoked rear lights are an anachronism or an option for the GSi trim level, either way they suit the car better than the orange indicators would.

Potentially the spot of the year has to be this Vespa 400.  We stopped to see if assistance was required, but it wasn't.  He was having a sticky idle issue, or something of that sort, and was just trying to get it to not be sticky.

A poor month for spots.  Only thing of note I snapped was this Volvo 480 covered in snow.

January 2018

Had to stop off at the Imperial War Museum since there were no services to make use of or safe spots to pull over for a crafty wee.  Just as well really, otherwise I wouldn't have seen this fantastic old tank.

This Beetle seemed quite unassuming at the time, just a regular old Beetle to look at.  Then some anoraks appeared and pointed out it's potentially a South African import  because of the number of wheel nuts and windscreen type.  I don't know, I just liked it.

That's us all up to date now.  February is still running and I've actually had some neat spots this month so the next update should be good.

All the FC Landies are long gone now AFAIK. The Pinzgauer is the logical successor and looks pretty similar so it's easy to mistake one for the other.

Hey it's March!  That means it's time to dump all the things I saw in February in here doesn't it?  Let's go then.  First up, what I'm told is most likely a Nissan Silvia import.  The big exhaust and slabby bodykit worked really well on this, there's not many cars that can pull that kind of look off.

Join me as my latest foray into modern media sees No Expense Spent Studios creating the monthly (probably) Triple S, a series devoted to low quality snapshots and mumblings about Survivors, Sports Cars and Stuff, edited just enough to explain what's happening.  In line with NESS other productions, quality has been economically low so you don't have to pay to view.

Supplementary static shots captured with antique phone-camera updates will still happen alongside this new venture for as long as we remember, or we get bored, or the tech breaks and there's no money to replace it.  Enjoy!  Or don't!

I did the moving pictures version and FORGOT to add the static images.  So here you go.

This TR7 looked fantastic.  Big thumbs up for the choice of wheels too.

Went to get rid of some manky old tyres and there was another spectacular blue Triumph to see, this time a Herald.

Nice to see this unmolested little survivor still out there fighting the good fight.  I still don't know what colour it is.  It's whatever is halfway between grey and purple.  Grurple?

Almost everything I saw in June was while I was behind the wheel, which is why the video above is just over 20 minutes long.  Here's the stuff I saw when I wasn't driving.

Fiat Seicento 2Tone, a special edition, not a scrapyard special.  Deserves two shots, because this is the only one I've ever seen in the wild and given how often I see it, I reckon its someone's daily driver too.

Mk2 Polo CoupĂ©.  That's something I've not seen in the wild for a while.
