Shite in Miniature II

My goodness, what a haul of wobbly French plastic there JM. Gama Cavaliers have hillarious panel gaps, and the Bulgarian copies, oh boy. I may have a Fronterror on it's way too in lwb form. I am now after the Vauxhall Astra merit mk3 now, seen plenty of GSis about for cheap, but not the Merit

A few more purchases needed!

I have a Calibra on it's way and possibly a 5 door Frontera, I also have 2 mk2 Cavs, one a saloon I made from an Opel Ascona, and a Vauxhall Carlton, and a mk2 Astra Merit, and Nova Swing, so a few Vauxhalls LOL

What sort of condition is it in Eddy?

I've been looking for a decent one for ages.

Or indeed any other nice(ish)condition majorette, thanks.

I'm sure I can help you there.  The DS is quite nice actually: still has the lift-up tailgate and both fender flags, for example.

I'm missing the irony, but envious of the unbent plastic.

Here's another recent arrival, plans unsure on this one.

I agree on the later post advising to leave alone and possibly apply some Wall's decals.....However, should a worse-looking one materialise I often thought it would be good to do one of these in navy blue and add the Pickfords Removals transfers intended for the Guy van.....

Plastic of much bentness and hilarious doorgappery.

No, I'm not going to open that boot any further.

I am very pleased to see confirmation that it was Norev, not a misguided young me, that coloured those Ferrari lamps.  I always thought I had daubed the dreaded Humbrol Silver on mine as a kid.....

Now there's a thought. Paint loss is worse on the other side, but I'm happy to leave alone and just get the stickers. Think it is a fairly early one, think these were made 1957-61, but a google suggests the later ones got more yellowish-white trailers.

One spigot only to attach the tractor unit.

The irony is that I bought a 5b the day you tried to flog one.

Plastic anything but unbent.

I've had the first major warppage occur on my watch. I'll do some pics. The Simca 1200 has lifted itself right of its chassis! Damn shame as it was a good one.

I always lose my mind over older German plastic 1/87 cars, love the 155 and the 5 series in particular.

I must get my collection down from the loft for photos.

He also sent me a Micro Machines case which opens out into a racetrack with pits, fantastic but totally unexpected  :-D .I might have to get some of my 1/87 DTM cars out & take some pictures.

They are actually plated.

Now, if you remembered the factory photos I once posted and in particular the one showing who plated them, you might look at those headlights with an entirely new outlook.

Edit: Found it.

I will have to do the same, but tomorrow now.

Edit: My whole model collection is based on the cars I have owned or had as company cars, working in the motor trade I have ignored the one night stands of which there were many.

My Vauxhall years were 1991 -1994 and in 3 years I had 5 Cavaliers, 3 Carltons and a Calibra new. All the Cavaliers were CDi hatches except the first one that was a SRi Hatch. Two of the three Carltons were estates but I can not find a model of that generation Carlton estate.

Burnsidew there are a few wants there!!!!! I want a stash of Astra GTEs to rhd a few Kadetts to Astras, plus my Kadett Combo to a Bedford Astramax, which we all know is the world's fastest van, esp in ex YEB diesel form LOL, yes  I have driven one, and that mk3 Astra..... I want one to make in to another driving school car, perhaps having a crack at doing a BSM car.

And while I'm at it, now you know why they are moulded in those bonkers colours and warp a lot:

No wonder they were fucked with Kenny Everett on the production line LOL, they were made in 'the best possible taste' no doubt LOL

I have a number of Corgi Escort's all as hatchbacks and a Matchbox cabriolet (all MK3). The other day I stumbled across a model collection on Google which contained a Corgi MK3 Escort cabriolet! I've never seen this model before. Has anyone else?

Also I've never seen any MK4 Escorts (Corgi/Matchbox)?
