I now have three Land Rovers, probably because I wasn't even looking to get one.  This is the best of the bunch and the most complete so I'll leave it alone since it's not common to find a playworn one with all the bits still attached.  At least one of the others will get a zebra repaint so it looks like a safari bus.

12b-LandRoverSafari.jpg

I now have four of these.  This is the most grim and the most recent.  A previous owner has stuffed the boot full of probably-chocolate which is less than pleasant.  I don't mind this model, as it happens, I just didn't want four of them.

44d-RollsRoycePhantomV.jpg

Speaking of multiples I don't want, I've now got yet another Field Car.  That brings my total to four FIVE, I found one in the wrong drawer.  This one does have some useful parts on it that will help out the others that are less complete.

18c-FieldCar.jpg

I've also got this totally fucked Rolls Royce.  I have another of these in the same colour, one strange thing though, the other one I've got has a black (EDIT: I double-checked, it's actually blue-grey rather than black so maybe Matchbox just used whatever was lying around when painting bases) base while this one has a sort of Jaguar Heather Pink coloured base that appears to be factory, which seems a bit odd.

24b-RollsRoyce SilverShadow.jpg

I don't mind this multiple.  The last one you saw in a previous post which was originally white with a red interior.  This is the other variation of yellow with a black interior.  They both need new windscreens.

27b-Mercedes300SL.jpg

I'm rather more excited by this Mercury Cougar.  I don't plan to do a thing to it but if/when I get another, I've got ideas for a sparkly 70s makeover and possibly even a wheel swap.

62-MercuryCougar.jpg

Dragon Wheels is another fun one.  These are often broken so to find this one in relatively good shape and with the stickers still mostly intact was pretty neat.  Clever, simple engineering too.  I shan't be doing anything to this one, it's great as it is.

43-DragonWheels.jpg

I'm going to repaint this Ford Capri.  It was originally HOT PINK with a black bonnet, someone has since toned that down with some Oxford Blue and done a reasonable job since there's paint only where it should be.  It does now have slightly the look of those cars that had the temperature reactive paint that were, I think, from HotWheels back when Global Hypercolor was all the rage.  They always ended up stuck in a horrid in-between purpley-brown colour, or completely washed out almost-pink.

54-FordCapri.jpg

Last interesting ones (it was quite a good lot this one, and very cheap) are these complete and not-too-terrible Pontiac Firebird and SAAB Sonett III, both of which I've been after for a while.

04-PontiacFirebird.jpg

Here's some of my childhood tiny ones , mostly wrecked :-(  , and bigger ones also wrecked :-(   . My Dad must have had a thing about Scammels , we had loads of the snow plough one !  Every Saturday we'd visit Lecores model shop in Chatham and I'd get a Matchbox or an Airfix kit  in a plastic bag !

Some nice pieces there......That American La France was really Corgi at their best.   Later re-issues were not a patch on this original and I played with mine far more than any other toy fire engines.   Hmm, maybe I could ask Santa once more.

Nice work.

I had one of these a few years ago brought for 50p with a missing wheel centre on one wheel and sold it on for £4.50

I've got the Maisto MK2 Granada in the same scale marked as a 2.8 GL underneath in my to repaint box. I think they did a decent job of the casting unlike there MK3 Escort Convertible.

I've got a few of the Maisto/MC Toy versions, along with one by Mira. There's a Dempsey & Makepeace one somewhere as well.

I hzve the hot pink capri - got my eye on a metallic red one on the bay. I remember getting the pkntiac from our local newsagent circa 1976 - the rockford files was on tv, even at 4 years of age I clocked it was the same car.

Interesting small lot arrived today that I bid on because of the cost of reproduction accessories and the fact it contained this, an early metal wheel horse box that still has the door.  The doors aren't held in particularly well so it's amazing any of them still have the door at all.

35b-MarshallHorse BoxMk7.jpg

There was a canopy for a Mercedes Truck/Trailer.  Probably an original one rather than a reproduction since it doesn't look brand new.  Useful too, since I didn't have any of these canopies.

02b-MercedesTrailer.jpg

An boat.

09-BoatAndTrailer.jpg

An container.  I reckon this is from a 1980s set, maybe I'll "retro-bright" it.

ConvoyScaniaCY18DoubleContainerTruck.jpg

Finally, this tiny little trailer.  There's no manufacturer marks on it and while it looks very similar to Lesney products and is similar in construction, things like the wheels and tow hitch are a different design.  I wonder if it's supposed to have a plastic top which would probably help in identification.  The casting is okay, just poorly finished with flashing still left on the (very fine tread) grey plastic wheels and the casting points in the bed of the trailer.  If anyone knows what it's from, please do let me know.

I've just ordered an aftermarket Horsebox door from Steve Flowers, it is going to need quite a bit of delicate fettling to work, so agreed, good to get an original!

The original is clearly thicker for one thing.

Possibly a moorstone/budgie effort?

The boat is a nice find too.
There should be a trailer to go with it.
The trailers are easy to find, the boats not so much.

The little horse box is nice,I have a couple one with a door and of course one without.

Been working on this for 18 months. That is to say, I painted it 17 months ago and it took me the rest of the time to buy a new glass piece and put it together. It's a lefty, so it needs some old French black plates. It might even end up being a police car again, if I can remember what I did with the thing off the roof...

It has to come apart again anyway because I didn't paint the rear window frame. I'll pencil that in for June 2020.

I had a Jaguar E-Type - no use for using on those tracks you clamp to a table or window cill. Even some of the Rolamatics failed at that, and some of mine ended up with the little nib on the wheel snipped-off for that reason......

The home of one previous owner Japanese cars:

1973 Datsun 1200 B110 2dr; 1980 Laurel 2.4 C230; 1988 Sunny 1.6 LX N13
1992 Camry 2.2GL (definitely just for spares now); 1993 Camry Estate 2.2GL on the road again!!

And a couple of modern Toyotas

Usually a Matchbox sized piece with similar wheels can be marked down to Budgie/Morestone or associated Modern Products branding.  I don't recognise this, though, nor can I think of a logical piece it would have come with.....There was a Jeep and Trailer in the Lone Star Tuf-Tots range but it didn't look like this.   Wonder if it had little plastic end raves like the Dinky Halesowen trailer?    Interesting....

Regarding the horse boxes etc.  yes it is well worth buying things up like that for the spares!   I grab any tyred 1-75 model I see - even if it just has one tyre - as they are quite expensive to have re-made.
