eddyramrod
I'm sitting here enjoying Casino Royale (1967) for the umpteenth time, and it's just struck me that the Bond partwork series hasn't yet included any of the cars featured...Bedford CA milk float anyone? mercrocker and Junkman
Junkman
The '67 Casino Royale is not part of the regular 007 Franchise, that's why. Anyway, some Matchboxes have been obtained. This one is IMO way too clean to be restored: This one retains its lid: This one retains its tow bar: This one has quite a dented sill: And some wheel damage: This is the version with the separate baseplate, hence restorable: And this one is complete with doors: Jon, Remspoor, eddyramrod and 8 others
eddyramrod
The '67 Casino Royale is not part of the regular 007 Franchise, that's why.I know, but some of the models they have produced are a bit tenuous, so if they're trying to appeal to completists they should do it properly, shouldn't they? Nice haul btw, I particularly like the Impala and the Bedford.

mercrocker
That pineapple van is the rarer hi-top version too.....Apparently they discontinued it because eight year dubbers couldn't fix roofracks and knackered Corgi suitcases to it. egg, Junkman, Felly Magic and 1 other

Make your own Lesney mini-set, Eddy - A55 Farina, the aforesaid milk float, FX3, DS19, Yesteryear Bentley and the James Young Phantom V. There was a Lotus racing car, too but possibly not the correct model. Hours of fun there with the rattle cans! Junkman and eddyramrod
sierraman
What about that one in the 80’s with Sean Connery, he had a Renault 5 in that I think.
Datsuncog
'Never Say Never Again'? Yup, there was a R5 Turbo2 in that - also a Citroen CX, Peugeot 505, Peugeot 604, Mercedes SL, Chevrolet Camaro - and a Mk5 Cortina that went through a wall... But I think it falls into the same trap as Casino Royale - not one of the MGM Bond films, so not licensed for the Bond cars partwork.... Pity, as I'd love a more detailed 1/43 Pug 604 than the quite toy-like Norev or Solido castings...

mercrocker
One of my favourite Corgis! I badly wanted it as a kid, in green, when my Grandad had one. Remember my Granny coming back empty handed from town saying that they only had a white one.....Damn I should have been less choosy! I see you have placed it near a drain for those leaky calipers..... Cardinal Wolseley, eddyramrod and Datsuncog
59Impala
I still have my 2000TC, also in the green livery. I can still remember my mother coming home and offering me either the green or white version, part of the joy of being the eldest of her offspring. I thought that the white one looked boring so my younger brother got that one, doh! No idea what he did with it as he was never into cars. I did manage to nick his purple Dinky Capri though and still have it. He always says that he reckons that I acquired his cars but the Capri is the only one. Split_Pin
I have that 605 and it is equally shonky, despite being boxed. The XM I also have is fine though, deapite being a more fragile model.
Datsuncog
The 1/43 Solido 605 I gifted* to Bramz7 a month or two ago was also horribly shonky, again around the doors... how odd. Split_Pin
A new curiosity shop has opened in Linlithgow where I was visiting today to see my parents. It had a lot of model cars there, most of which were not of interest to me however this Plastic Norev Panhard 17 jumped out at me. It is in scale 1/86 and I have never seen one before. I think it is some sort of railway accessory. It is rough and missing 2 unobtainum tyres but for £3 I thought it was worth buying for curiosity alone. RayMK
You've got some good ones there. I particularly like the nicely proportioned Cresta. Presumably as the colour is wrong, you will resist calling the Kadett 'Oliver.' junkyarddog

Felly Magic
I decided I wanted to do a wheel swap on my Vanguards Carlton, BIG mistake, rear screw put up a fight but eventually yielded, but all the front screw did was strip the head, BOLLOCKS, so fuck it, got a 6mm drillbit and my more torquey Minicraft 12v drill out that said bit has been stuck in the chuck of for about 10 years. Bingo, the screw also holds the bonnet on, and as it fell to bits, the left hand headlamp and wiper went missing, double BOLLOCKS, eventually found the headlamp, but negative on the wiper, so had to raid spares. All to put on a set of mk2 Grandad Ghia wheels, what should have been a 2 minute job, stub of the screw still stuck in the thread, so used glue to put the bastard back together, photos probably tomorrow, as I simply cannot be arsed today, in other news, found another rhd dashboard for summat old, but run out of mirrors, BASTARD. Sorry for swearing, but model projects are a might bit frustrating at the moment RayMK
