Shite in Miniature II

Wow CMS, you've got some lovely stuff there. I occasionally wake in a cold sweat wondering what to do were I to have to disband my collection.

The AUTOart, Gate and Revell stuff should be easy to shift on eBay - all those models seem to do pretty well on a no reserve basis, and I'm especially jealous of your Impreza. The SunStar Mitsu Pajero is a fairly unusual find, too, as is the General Lee (Ertl American Muscle models were always decent, and more sought-after than later 'joyride' branded efforts). The Defender will attract bidders, too.

The Bburago bits will be the hardest to home. The Viper was one of Bb's better efforts, but they're absolutely everywhere. I sold a pair off (because too many models) and only just covered my post and packing. Wish I hadn't bothered.

Of the Maistos I'd probably have a go at selling the Opel Speedster (VX220), Ford Explorer Sport Trak, Hummer and ST2000.

I'd be tempted to find a young relative who'd gratefully receive the Bburagos as a birthday present. They're how the vast majority of collectors have started out, and how I became afflicted.

(Edit: quick eBay search of completed items since December, that Impreza sold for £73, boxed but with parts detached. Puts it well outside my price range, along with most stuff these days..... which is why my collecting has stalled somewhat.

The AUTOart Pajero hit the same price, evidently still wearing its packing seals. GLWS!)

From a Lymington charity shop. It's a bit playworn, and in need of a tyre, but this screamed 'buy me' at two quid.

GroB(ss)er Mercedes 600 Pullman from Corgi, complete with slide-down rear side windows, and....

...operating wipers worked by a linkage Heath Robinson would be proud of.

Some on here probably have these things cluttering every spare corner, but I've never seen one before.

I can haz 2nd hand Vanguardshite. XR2 in resale silver with tiny paint flaws, & the 30th anniversary SD1 Vitesse also in silver, has a missing rear wiper. Fester was £8 & Rover was £9. Happy with em as bound to have a wiper somewhere. Fester was bought as a spares donor. Photos later

Time to add photos of the latest shite in Felly's ever changing mini fleet of crap. Posh packaging for the SD1 as it was done to celebrate 30 years of the V8 beast

as todays mini fiddling session was a total waste of time,

so much so that more things now don't work, than actually do work, and even worse these are things that last week DID work, so now i have to think seriously bout getting rid of that little shit bag mini and just accept the inevitable haircut....

to cheer myselt up we went into Whitby to see what was about, and while there visit Alan, the purveyor of the finest* preloved diecast tat in the district.

i bought this

post-18270-0-57800800-1520105210_thumb.jpg

what you cannot see is the slightly jaunty angle on one of the back wheels cos of a bent axel (or is it trouble with the hydrogas?) and even though its well past the glory days of diecast cars (been from the late '70s) i still really like it. it rolls real nice too!

but i like wedges.....

i also bought myself this

post-18270-0-76750200-1520105398_thumb.jpg

another Commer, this time a Co-Op milk float to match the nasy van i bought recently.

this is really nice and bright, ok so it wasn't dirt cheap, but it wasn't crazy stupid expensive either.

i still need to get shot of that fuckin' mini though.........

Today, I'm going to explain to you - - - life!

Life is kind to you. Everything is in perfect harmony.

Life is when you receive a parcel that has real stamps on it.

39890318124_dc9c89bbea_b.jpg

Now.

If that parcel, that has real stamps on it, contains this:

39890316714_d2a82978f5_b.jpg

That's life.

Life is not what the fucking EU tells you it is.

Life is much more than that.
