Shite in Miniature II

Dinky should have made a Javelin - it was catalogued as No. 40C but never actually produced.

Aside from the modern Oxford stuff I can only think of white medal models - Lansdowne, Mikansue and I think Pathfinder....

A chap by the name of Hodge did a few models in the style of 50s Dinkys under the brand name of Odgi, one of them was a Javelin. Quite difficult to find these days and can be pricey. I have the Javelin and also a Mk2 Consul and E93A Prefect. They are quite charming. I can take a photo of them tomorrow if any of you would like to see them.

As promised here are a few piccies of my three ODGI models together with some Dinky versions from the 50's, they look pretty similar I reckon. I can't remember other models that ODGI did although a Daimler Conquest Roadster and a van, possibly a Jowett or Bradford spring to mind.

There's an Odgi Bradford and the Dolomite-Dinky-Never-Made on the Bay of Fools at present.   They seem less appealing than the 3 saloon cars, though....Sellers want a wunner each which is pretty much nearly what my Consul fetched when I got that un-refusable offer.

Blimey I hadn't realised that they were that much! Looks as if the Consul has gone as only the van is on there, someone has a box for the Jaguar XK150 too. I am old enough to remember when you could buy a real Consul for a wunner, indeed back in the mid-70s a friend bought a 57 Consul Convertible for 15 quid plus two brand new wings for a tenner each. The car did need restoring but then was pretty solid. Alas he never got around to it, left it in a damp garage and when it was pulled out it fell in half.

Some fancy Christmas cheese came in this nice wooden box with a sliding thick perspex lid. Far too nice to throw away, so I made a shelf, painted it and then finished it with the last of the Allegro's headlining material.

Pretty good for the 1:76s.

Excuse the general filth in the above photo, I've been sanding that table for approximately one decade.

Took me a while to complete the Graffiti (probably my favourite film) set with the 32 as I forgot to buy one when they were current. A good mate gave it to me as it was just sitting in his loft. I recall that the prick that owns Pop Parts Plus had one on his stand and when I asked how much it was he told me that I couldn't afford it apparently. After that sort of shite remark I wouldn't have taken it from him if it was free. As for the 150 I bought it as a) it wasn't a Belair B) it's a fuel injection car and c) it was in a sale at the late lamented Modelzone store in Holborn.

Didn't know until recently about this die cast section. I have the models shown below for sale. They are all 1:18 scale apart from the last two photos which are 1:43 scale. All except two are Australian V8 Supercars and over here are extremely rare and thus, expensive! Of the two that aren't race cars, one is an HSV GTS (which the race cars are based upon); the other is a Pontiac Firebird (effectively a Holden Monaro Coupe).

I would like to sell the collection complete if possible and I'm looking for £160 all in.

PM me for any further details.

I received my Gama Mondeo from 64A60 a few days ago and I am delighted with it. I have never seen a Gama Mondeo before and as I thought this manufacturer had stopped producing Diecast 1/43 by that time. I have about ten other Gama models, mostly 1/43 and the Mondeo has far finer detail and accuracy.

I also dug out my other Mondeos. The plain blue Minichamps examole was bought with my first ever paypacket as a 15 year old in 1994. The yellow Siku was bought at a car boot sale for about 25p or something.

Going to dig out my other Gama models now too!

I remember some of those lorries well from when I was a youngster. Pre-Superfast stuff just pre-dates me, they must have been hand-me-downs, but they remained in the toy box and were played with for many years (still have at least a couple of them).

Looking forward to visiting a toyfair next weekend.

Aye, Norev.  And the 2CV.   The GS is a Norev Mini-Jet.

Good haul, especially seeing that the R4 is complete with its rear door...

That would be correct, sir.

And the 'trelle is not only complete, but it's also the early version with the separate rear number plate and tailgate 'glass'.

There is nothing broken off, including the bumber ends!

Too bad someone brush painted it auction red.
