Shite in Miniature II

I've attached it properly this time, so lesson learn't! But same here, I've not seen another Mk1 Master by another brand.

The only one I can think of is the not inexpensive resin kit by Mini Vehicles.

There is one on eBay atm:

For those looking for a Master beavertail, don't mind newfangledness, but do mind expensiveness,

this might be interesting:

So after living in my 'new' home for over 2 1/2 years I am finally getting around to sorting out my model collection, much of which has been packed away in boxes since October 2014. It's a bit like Xmas every day as I open the packing boxes and find what lies therein! I took a few pics of some of them on my bed as I discovered the lost treasures. No points for identifying what they are but hope you like them.

Bloody.  Hell.

No man needs TWO Spot On caravans.   Well, OK, you do have more than one tow-car.

What is the Wulzy 4/44 - a white metal jobbie?

The 4/44 is indeed a white metal jobbie, an old Pathfinder. They used to make 600 of each model, 300 of one colour and obvs 300 in the other. I've got a fair few of them now, just got an Austin Devon off Ebay for 41 quids plus postage, bargain.

There's quite a few more in the display cabinets, would you like some more model porn when I get a chance? There's Corgi, Dinky, Spot-On (I love those!), Tekno, Solido, Politoys, Norev, handbuilts etc. I do have rather too many models but I just love buying them.

Yes I do need two Spot-On caravans Mr Mercrocker! There are more tow cars in the cabinet, Rover P5s, Bentley, Cresta PA & PB, Zephyr 6, Mk2 Zodiac etc etc. When I were but a lad back in the 60's Spot-On stuff was pretty difficult to find and they were more expensive than Dinky or Corgi. It was a rare treat to stumble across a shop selling the Spot-On range.

2nd to last picture - red plastic Taunus?  squeezed between two Corgi Airbornes - is that of Hong Kong origin?   I had a Mk 4 Zodiac in that series - with little yellow plastic headlamp discs if I remember correctly.   Any maker name - I would love to find those again....!

Bloody hell you've got a keen eye! The Taunus is a Norev and is a more door version, most models seem to be of the two door. As for Hong Kong models most were blatant copies of Corgi or Dinky. I recall that some BHS stores had a small toy department and my mum bought me a Victor 101 which was a copy of the Dinky which I also had. Dinky did the Mk4 Zodiac with yellow jewelled headlights and I won one in a competition in Meccano Magazine, still got it. The only Hong Kong name that I can remember off the top of my head is Telsada but they normally made bigger scale stuff.

Cheers Mr Impala, the wheels should have given it away but these HK ones had very similar hubs.  I still have a Vedette in the series but none of the others....BHS rings a bell, reckon that's where mine were from!     I have one or two Telsaldas but most of the ones I had as a kid proved to be extremely fragile!

Look forward to more pics!

I've always wanted a model of the Dolomite I used to own but nobody has ever made one in my preferred 1/76 scale. A few weeks ago I was idly looking at a spare Minix Triumph 2000 and suddenly realised how much of a resemblance it had to a Dolomite so maybe I would be able to make one from the other. There was only one thing to do: have a go, and a lot of work later here it is. The body has been shortened, the front and rear ends reshaped and an interior and chassis from an Oxford Viva added, and I think it looks sufficiently like a Dolomite now.

The Fiesta is a straight out of the box Oxford Diecast but represents my actual car, even down to the numberplates, so I can now replicate what our driveway looked like circa 2004!
