Its time for the Astra to go.

Before I waste my time on ebay, anyone here fancy a slightly scruffy N plate Astra 1.6ls estate with 12 months mot and a mismatched interior for £200?

Cambridge area.

Thought not. It was worth a go!

Incidently - is there a link to an idiots guide to posting pics that someone more literate can point me to? Ta!

T-Cut the surface rust spots off the tailgate, bung a decent set of hubcaps on it, then lob it in the Freeads/Autotrader for £395. £200 is far too cheap. Grim they may be, but the 1.6 8-valve Mk3 Ashtray wagon is a pretty bulletproof and useful device.

The tailgate rust will require a squirt of paint (the pic is after I t-cut it!) but I have the paint, just need time, inclination and the weather to do it. The otherside wheel arch needs a tidy too.I quite liked those wheel trims! You still recon £395 even with 180k an odd seat and an un-dysonable dog hair carpet? I may have underestimated it. Not sure I can face dealing with punters though, I'm not agoraphobic or anything, they're just generally twats!

It's a relatively recent estate, a popular model, it's got 12 months' ticket on it. You will surely get the odd "ooh, too much mileage" comment from telephone tyrekickers (like I did  ) but I reckon you'll easily get more than £300 for it, purely on the basis that it has a year's ticket. Just tell prospective buyers that's £25 per month of MOT remaining! Ideal for a builder or windowcleaner at the end of the day, or for tip/DIY/dogwalking purposes. Autotrader will only be £9 for 2 weeks, online only.Bit of Dulux on the arch and tailgate will see it right...is the seat a completely different colour? A pair of Poundland seat covers would probably cover it up enough...

Funny thing that.............I have a M plate 1994 Astra Estate with the Isuzu diseasel in it, just hit 159000 miles today, T&T October, scruffy, dent in every panel including the roof, no wheel trims, Vectra front brakes, 2006 model Astra steel wheels with 195/55/15 rubber, colour coded bumpers, (red and scratched) mismatched interior, (Was grey, but now has blue replacement, except dash which is grey) Everything works except rear washer andCD part of CD player (Radio fine) Take it away now for 200 quid.............I recently went to Great Yarmouth towing a Land Rover chassis, also done Salisbury, Blackpool, and Scottish borders within the last 2 years. Needs a service, and will probably need strut top bushes for MOT. Starts from cold on 1 heater plug, lumpy for about three seconds. Large bit of corrosion in boot floor, but outside MOTable area. Towbar, roofrails, central locking, Electric fronts, sunroof. It's a good kwality shitter! I use it for EVERYTHING! Reason for sale...........Too practical, hence has to go and it will force me to finish the Land Rover!http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o228 ... 120025.jpgI'm crap with pictures BTW so if someone can sort that out,let me know eh!

No, thats a SWB Land Rover roof, side panels, bonnet, spare wheel, and inside is a bulkhead, two tailgates, two cat flap type upper tailgates, a front headlamp panel, three tool boxes, and room for the driver and the pies..................All for free the other week, as long as I collected it! (The toolboxes are mine already) I reckon it was at the limit of capacity there......................Great motor, sadly missed. But I do have a G plate Sapphire waiting in the wings for July 1st and tax! It was 70 quid with 40 litres of fuel and a CD player!
