wuvvum
Just picked this up from Colchester. Has to be the highest mileage Chink evAr... Drives OK though - only issue I found is a fuel starvation problem when accelerating away after slowing down significantly or stopping briefly - it hiccups as if it's running out of fuel - interestingly it doesn't do it when it's been stationary for more than 30 seconds. I might try and find out what's causing it if I can be arsed. Being an SX it has leccy windows and central locking, and it trundles along OK considering it's less than 900cc - fifth gear acceleration is not exactly mind-blowing though. But for £79 with test till September, who gives a toss if it's a bit slow? It came with nearly half a tank of unleaded too (so probably about £15-worth in one of these) and seems commendably thrifty on fuel. Not that uncomfortable either, and certainly much more civilised on a run than a Mini. I actually quite like it.
Ross_K
Shit-er-ific!I think those things are crying out for a 1.3 16 valve out of a Punto!
Guest
I had a basic model a few years back. Would have another if I needed to. Cheap to run/repair/piss easy to park in town. Yours is as cheap as chips too.
pompei
The ex Mrs P has a Cinq Sporting, and I loved it, despite only having 54 horses. I've seen 1242cc Punto conversions, as well as turbos fitted, all making for more fun, without getting too lairy.Think yours will have the ancient 903 pushrod engine from the later 850s, but there's not so much wrong with that GR8 4 MPG
Dukestar25
I always fancied the 'Sporting' version of this car, which again, isn't that fast but is better if you use motorways a lot.I had a later Seicento 900SX, very smooth ride, quite comfy and all the leccy stuff. I was sorry to let it go...
Pillock
Bog standard dependable everyday motoring - for the price of a trolley full of groceries you really can't fault that!A mate had a similar model, although we never found out what engine option it had. However since he was given it to use until the mot ran out, and hated the very sight of it, it used to get abused daily - rev limiters when cold, door-handle cornering, that sort of thing. It eventually got written off, although it was through a drunk driver using it as a crash barrier outside his house so you can't really fault the car. Volksy
I'm quite liking it, My spanish Sister used to have a 2 cylinder 704cc one, It covered gargantuan miles, as she used to drive it to Morrocco from her home in Madrid every other week..
Milford Cubicle
Did they do a 2-cylinder Cinquecento? Didn't realise that!Stunning bargain wuvvum.
Volksy
Yup it used the 704cc 'laid back' lump out of the 126. Think it was badged the EL, european mainland market only, a bit like the panda 30..
Timewaster
How much nicer than Volksy's inherited "Seych" - (sorry Volksy)The name cinqucento always amused me, as does the general publics inability to say it.
nigel bickle
Might turn into a useful toy if fuel gets tight. I've just filled the Kia Pride (usually dog transport!) for the first time ever--£30!

r.welfare
Awesome little buggy. A mate had one of these as his first car, back in '96 so would have only been two years old (flash git). As I recall it featured the most garish stripes down each side seen this side of Halfords. Great fun to drive, but not so much over the hills of the A34 south of Oxford - foot flat to the floor it would slow to 55 uphill, then achieve 95 (indicated) downhill...What else do you have up your sleeve for collection this week then? ashmicro
Possible blocked fuel filter. FRAM part number G9716, should be about 8 quid.
