Free is my kind of price. People keep giving me cars for nothing but I took this shed on:

It cost me a 30 quid train ticket and a tenner in fuel. It passed an MOT on Thursday, another £30................it'll owe me £100 before long. Gutted.

What are you gutted about? :?

Looks none too shabby, Reverend? Which lump does this have - assume it comes with the factory-fitted ripped driver's seat and lack of indicators?

and all the warning lights lighting up the dash

I've had/have loads of beemers and swear that the E34 was the best of the lot in terms of build quality. Oh and the E28 boys would love to have your wheels-they suit the E28 nicely and are a much better improvement over the crappy metric wheels.E34s are generally trouble free, only prob I had with mine was the heater valve but I never did anything about it in the 18 months of owning it. Has a steering box set-up and lots of joints to wear and wobble your wheels.what engine?

It's sarcasm............It's a 525i manual, tired driver seat and 209k on the clock. It did have 105'000 but I sold the instrument cluster for £40 :D and fitted another one from 'stock'.Suspension is okay with recent shocks but I had to replace a lower control arm (£26) and a rear top mount (£14) for the test.

The 2.5 lump in the E34 was an M20 unit same (although not sure same power) as the E30 three series. The later 525i E34 (think 1990/1 onwards) used the 24v M50 2.5.The E28 five series used a choice of two 2.5 engines-the 525e (stands for eta) was also an M20 unit that used a longer throw so it was really a 2.7 (a once popular mod for E30 owners was to use the eta bottom end to make a cheap torquey 2.7) but was only available in auto but they were very fuel efficient-torquey but low bhp. The other 2.5 available for the E28 was the M30 unit-basically a strangled 2.8 I belive. I own an M30 525i and have 150bhp but they aren't exactly rapid does have enough poke to carry my carcass to the pie shop mind and yes it does use alot of the juice.either way its not a 518i and yeah the 525i is a pretty good all-rounder on the fuel/power stakes.I raise my glass of raspberry crusher in your general direction, cheers!
