Picked my Stepway up on Saturday!  Will do a bit on Modern thread when I get time. Nearly 200 miles done so far and am getting used to it. All rather similar to my 2002 Clio, but that is fine by me as mine has been a great car. I did get a bit excited with the spec, but the last car has done me for 14 years, and I have had the 2cv since 1994, so why not get what I want!

My subframe has gone and done a snap. Time to look for a new one while I wait for the big taxi of indeterminate colour.

I need a cheap daily driver to replace the C5.

I cannot think of a single car I actually want. I fell into the C5 by accident (and can't afford another C5 anyway, but am discounting all Citroëns due to insurance rates relative to Mercedes etc.). I'm even considering saloon cars now, just in case something grabs me.

Thought about it - I'd had a deal lined up with Dave for his when I was selling the Smart, and when it came back up if I'd had the settlement through I'd probably just have bought the car rather than tickets.

I probably need to drive one again to remind myself what they're like. Last one I had was an old 740 estate back in 2004ish.

I handed a 17-plate Polo GTi it's arse this morning in my 740 Turbo, though I put that down to most of the interior being missing at the moment.

No offence, but...... (which is always the precursor to something offensive)

I am glad I live over a thousand miles away from you.

If my memory serves me right, thats one balljoint failing on two seperate occasions while driving, brake pads falling out of the caliper while driving and now this....

Are you aware of the concept of basic vehicle maintenance?

*resists*

Normally I'd be like "Yeah!" but my fleet is entirely broken or not MoTd (relying on the hire car), and with building works going on here I can't even offer detail fixing and tidying, everything gets covered in brickdust and mud in seconds if it's not locked in the barn.
