  3. I'm not sure that I'd trust anything from a place that has nine consonants and no vowels in its name.
  4. I've noticed that the AC in the Partner has started to get a little noisy. It's still functioning, but sounds to me like the expansion valve is feeding vapour which would suggest we're low on charge. Let's see what the gauges say. Disclaimer here: I used to help out a HVAC technician looking after a bunch of gear on and around the farm I used to live next door to - but I've zero formal training in the field, and what I have learned I'm rusty on to the tune of probably more than 20 years at this point! I can usually look at things and figure out roughly what's going on though. I do keep half pondering looking at getting certification in that field, as if you like hands on stuff it's great as it involves a bit of everything. Though sadly as with just about everything in life I find interesting or have an aptitude for I think I'm probably about 30 years late for the technology I'm happiest working on to be in mainstream use. Back on topic...Standing pressures first. Smidge under 60psi. Definitely a smidge on the low side, I'd be expecting to be seeing nearer 70-80 with the car being warm. Running (and stabilised). We're definitely short on gas. Low side isn't really too bad, but with an expansion valve throttling things that's kind of to be expected until the charge gets critically low. High side though tells the story, I'd be looking for probably somewhere in the region of 150psi even with how cool it is today. I was able to get the head pressure up a tiny bit by applying an artificial load by putting the system into recirculation mode with the heater on full, but it's definitely short on gas. You can't really fully diagnose a system like this purely with a simple set of gauges like this, even with a full set of temperature probes etc you're never going to be charging this by pressures. Correct procedure is to recover the charge then weigh the proper charge in (assuming it passes a vacuum test - ideally you'd pressurise the system with dry nitrogen and do a *proper* leak down test, but that takes time and I wish you luck finding a garage that will). So I'll be getting her in this week to get the system recharged.
  5. Remember this one, originally from the market but latterly my sales thread? Yeah, I decided to just keep it for myself after all. So of course, it needed to come out of the packaging. Although then Cat seemed to become very interested in the canoe, for some reason. Oh, okay. Can you... just not? Ok, I'll keep the Ford and you can keep the canoe, yeah?

  7. 1999 Hyundai Grandeur Geulaendeu Tueoleo 그랜드 투어러 (Gran Turismo, GT), seen at Skegness These weren't given the Grandeur Sedan's 3.5 L Sigma V6, oh no. Using a convoluted route through Kia, they were supplied the 3.0 L 6G72 24v twin-turbo V6 from Mitsubishi. But didn't tell anybody. Which meant that for some time, Motor Factors in Lincolnshire scratched their heads and lost a large amount of sleep getting parts for these. That was until Barry from Mablethorpe sussed-out the hidden connection with the 3000 GT. For the next six months, Barry was rushed off his feet, and wished he hadn't.
  8. Always loved the colours you could get the top end Puntos in, they did a beautiful sky blue metallic as well IIRC. Mine was a base model in black but it was still a good car, best looking supermini ever IMO.
  9. 1951 Alfa Romeo 2300 Limousine Impiallacciaturas (Veneers) When the press came to see this, they wood not be allowed to touch it, only admire from a distance.
  10. Absolutely love this car. The nostalgia this brings back from the 90s is unreal. What a beauty
  11. Interestingly, this was the Ferrari conversion that became known as the 'Toastarossa', for the same reason. If they weren't rivals, they could have worked together to solve the issue.
  12. Bargain....possibly. Sent from my SM-A145R using Tapatalk
  13. Judging by your own standards? 🤣 He strutted!
  14. lunch break a la francaise?
  15. Yes mk4/5 2dr base/L hard to find, LHD taunus are worthless in the UK as they require bulkhead/scuttle swap to make them rhd & there are enough cortinas left to find what you want. European taunus was avl in most mech/trim specs, several times I've considered finding a 2 Dr "S" or Ghia & converting it to rhd but you need a doner for the bulkhead/scuttle, dash all the heater ducting etc , a rack & loom. Would be a full week's work even for someone like me with 40 years experience of these.
  16. Dodge Tomahawk dirtbike Nissan Qashqai Le Mans racer Apple cars, 1981 "Aston Martin Allegro" looks more like an Allegro with the front end of a W123. Not sure why there's a 19th century war going on in the background either....
  17. Fabulous! Such a period colour. Are the number plates original or repros?
  18. watching the pet shop boys thing on bbc four neil tennant the older he gets the more he looks like a cross between bob greaves and ken bruce also chris spoke - in 30+ years i dont think ive heard him say owt also they started talking about the costume thing and theyre talking to someone involved in the background of them and the pointy hat thing 'who the fuck came up with that'
  19. Top bombing. That looks great.
  20. 1977 Trails of a “rapid response” ambulance at a clinic in Turin (Based on a Countach platform) Proposal discreetly shelved as it became clear the v12 could be kept cool, or the patient, but not at the same time.
  21. Amazing work on the re-programming thing though - way beyond my capabilities but I definitely think you've cracked it.
  22. The 1972 Triumph Stag, by Moretti. Dubbed the 'Stagioni', this was another one-off, which was apparently 'accidentally' commissioned by Solihull on Cowley's behalf, without Cowley having any knowledge until payment was demanded on delivery. Owned, at one time, by a Martin 'Giant Haystacks' Ruane from Salford.
  23. Pity you can't just put a bit of wire in the connector that plugs into the seat mat (which is what I've done with the ride on mower - it's in case you get off the mower and the deck is still turning and stops those sorts of accidents.............which isn't an issue with mine as the deck doesn't work (taken the belt off) and is just used to cart a small trailer around the yard/garden.
  24. Definitely worth a look - there are about 5 cables within the dashboard - 3 are pretty straightforward, the other two convoluted. I'm going to detach each, one by one, and then try to get some lubrication in them and get them moving properly. Currently giving some thought as to how to secure the attachment/gromet for the slider I have that's currently falling off. Tricky proposition - v tough to stop if falling off, without hindering the action. keep on coming back to two or three cable ties that will hold a washer below everything, that I've drilled some holes in to put the cable ties through loosely. keeps it in position but allows movement. will have to be a wide-ish washer and v v thin cable ties. Will have a play around. I think I could 3d print something...............if I had a 3d printer and the software..........which I dont! More tomorrow.
