  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks, you’re right. We all have mental day jobs and the car is miles away from home so it’s difficult to get everyone together, tools, parts etc during daytime. I think we’ll fit the original uprights and swap out just the hubs. I’m watching the calendar and stressed to shit that we’ve barely started and have way too much to do…
  3. Enjoy the process too - I've had mixed feelings at times about getting rid of some of my Granddads (numerous) bits of automotive shite, but actually, moving some of it on is part of the story too. I'd never sold at an auction before, and it was pretty exciting to be fair

  6. After a chat with the garage it appears that the only welding required is a patch to the rear seatbelt mount. The front shock mount is the cup the spring sits in and a new one comes with a new spring. So for an old bus she's doing well I think. Booked in for the work and retest next Thursday/Friday.
  7. Didn't Olivier Panis win the Monaco Grand Prix in one of those........
  8. I have been told June-ish, I will update the thread when I know more, it will be an online auction.
  9. I'll let that one slide! My memories of that car were more the comical body roll while learning to drive around an Asda carpark in the 80's.
  10. Today
  11. Ok, certainly a long shot. If anyone does happen to dive into the depths of French salvage yards and does find a ph1 Safrane seat ECU, I would pay a £100 finders fee as well as the cost of the component itself if you could bring it back and post it to me. The connectors would have to be cut off as well as the current ones on mine are heavily corroded.
  12. El taller de carrocería ha estado ocupado. Waiting on a date to get it back.

  15. So far I've gone through 40 K reg Mondeos to see the split between hatch and saloon. It's exactly 50/50 - 20 of each... I'll fill some more in over the next few days and see where we end up.

  19. The thing is, I bid £650 and it immediately went to £650 rather than splitting the difference like I'm used to eBay doing. I was well confused.
  20. That makes perfect sense actually. The clutch operating arm on a type9 gearbox pivots on its end so as the clutch wears (cover diaphragm spring comes out again)the arm will move away from the engine lengthening the inner cable and so pulling the pedal quadrant anticlockwise. Maybe if there's no free play left for the quadrant to take up the pedal has now risen up too far ? Needs a nice long bank holiday weekend to investigate or say bollocks and live with it as it is.
  21. I can only suggest that going back at it with fresh eyes, and if you feel the bubbling dissatisfaction of it then go for a walk or polish the headlights. Biggest enemy of mine is not realising when I'm angry at something until shit gets broken at which point I want to walk away from it. If you step away and look at something else, then come back to it, I think that often works better as you'll have fresh eyes and can see the face of the lion you couldn't see when you had your head in it's mouth inspecting it's tonsils.
  22. Always the thing with eBay auctions when they end mid day. Often go cheap. The highest may have been £670 but they may have chucked in like a grand and are really chuffed they got it cheap.
  23. Any idea when the auction is? Sort of interested in the V50 Moto Guzzi. I have checked Bonhams Web site but can't find it. Sent from my SM-A145R using Tapatalk
