  1. Past hour
  2. Spotted TH15 GUY last night parked up, a pale grey Porsche Panamera. Didn't see the owner though. Plate worth more than car - I read a news article about local government spending earlier that mentioned Oxford Council own 'FC 1' and it's on a Nissan Leaf, they estimate the plate's worth ten times what the car is
  3. There is a breather pipe which commonly splits, it goes from somewhere just after the air box to somewhere under the inlet manifold. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that as I can't remember exact details but a smoke test finds it! It will usually nudge the emmisions into an MOT fail though so all may or may not be revealed when you get it done
  4. This is the problem though, can anyone be trusted to never act like a dick? One moment of anger/drunkenness etc could see a whole thread, of mostly other people's posts, deleted. Regretting it the next day won't bring that thread back.
  5. I've only had one car where the handbrake mech lost it's teeth, a Hyundai Tucson, if you're careful you can remake the teeth with a needle file. This is what I did and it perfect the whole time I had the car. I've still no idea how it lost the teeth in the first place.
  6. Any interest in a roffle of this beautiful* machine? It's a 1.5DCi, it's tired, it's scruffy, it has a clattery and leaking sunroof, but it still drives and returns reasonable fuel economy and has a ticket up to Feb 2025. I'm thinking something along the lines of £13 plus some multibuy action.
  7. I wonder if there is an after dogging picture as this is obviously a ready for dogging picture.
  8. Further to the rust proofing mission. I bought some buzz weld chassis guard. This stuff is essentially lanolin oil, and dries tacky through "polymerisation" its one of those that needs reapplying every 6-12 months but for £12 a litre, thought I'd give it a go. I thinned it and attempted to spray it through a "pump up" garden spray bottle, but I don't think I thinned it enough as the jet throw wasn't great, more like a water pistol than a fine spray. Nonetheless, the product can be applied to rubber, so no harm on that front. Equally I hit the exhaust with it inevitably which is going to smell nice when it melts off. All in all time will tell, and the car is never driven in the wet, so hopefully it will last another 25 years. I'm will give it another coat when a bit drier for bits I've missed.
  9. I've been getting the 'water in fuel' warning popping up on the dash board now and again as well as a constantly illuminated ECU light on the dash. When I read the fault codes all I get is 'water in fuel'. When I got the car it was missing the water sensor for the fuel filter so I fitted a cheap one from ebay. I drained the fuel filter but it made no difference. I changed the fuel filter when I got it so it was probably due a change anyway. My Saab has lost the fuel filter cover so the filter is a bit of a mess, it also looks like it's been seeping a wee bit of fuel. Part of the yellow seal for the wiring plug is knackered and sticking out as well, just as I was starting to undo the filter it naturally started to rain. So I had the joys of lying on wet cardboard in the rain. I removed the sensor and then the old filter. I used some of the diesel in the old filter to coat the seals on the new filter and screwed it back on with the sensor. It felt crap whilst spinning it on, you could feel the rubber seal catching. I started the car and stuck my head back under so I could watch diesel drip out the top of the new filter, excellent. I unscrewed the new filter and found that the bit of ground I was lying on was lower than under the filter so all the diesel that spilled out made it's way to where I lying, leaving me stinking of diesel for the rest of the day. I smeared some Vaseline round the seals this time and refitted it, perfect no more leaks. Annoyingly this didn't clear the water in fuel issue so I'll probably have to buy a new sensor, I think I'll just grab a genuine Saab one from NeoBros on ebay for £20 and be done with it.
  10. Clashes with a show at Wynyard Hall unfortunately otherwise I'd of probably had a run up, went last year in my 205 GTX.
  11. Been trying to find info on that thing but Google isn't turning up anything. Looking at the shape of what appears to be the front wheel, are there a pair of bicycles underneath the "helmet"?
  12. Also in the bad parking thread for obvious reasons 😄
  13. 2 girls in full gym gear doing exercises in Cumbernauld railway station car park just now 😄
  14. Today
  15. On the Turner Prize shortlist this year....
  16. Thanks for remembering, I got one in the end, it was in a job lot on here. I gave it to my colleague who worked on their development and he was made up, as he can't afford a real one! I'll see if he'll forward me the photos from his development days.
  17. Looking at it again it looks like it could be Ocker Hill in Tipton (the cooling towers from the power station were demolished some time ago)
  18. I found an XJC, ironically in Tenerife of all places.
  19. Think that was @Surface Rust? I've been keeping an eye out, but haven't seen any since the request was made.
  20. Several months ago someone requested a Matchbox Autozam as they knew someone involved in their design - can't find the post now as the search function isn't the greatest. Anyway - I found two in B&M today They have 20% off toys this week And lots of Matchbox including that orange Kadett that was so hard to find originally
  21. Just for the fan club, I cleaned it (even though it wasn't really dirty). I might even put some fuel in it later.
  22. Maybe he removed the hot dog to improve the handling? I can't imagine it being very stable or aerodynamic with the massive high roof and then a giant sausage on top of that.
  23. Also where’s he cooking these hamburgers? On the roof of the cab? 😂
  24. Provenance is surely everything with that, you could knock something up and claim it was a prototype and stick it in an auction.
  25. I ended up with my ZAZ 968 by opening the ebay tat thread and not realising that I was reading a page about 6 months behind where the last post (that I'd seen on the activity screen and had prompted me to open the thread) and managing to track down the advert in an obscure Facebook group. I've also read and enjoyed some ancient/dormant threads on here, for example I found @Mr_Bo11ox's thread detailing the work on his car trailer helpful, as he converted it from rods to cables which is a job I need to undertake. If we binned off old threads then all that useful info and pictures, or even just entertaining content that shaped the forum, would be lost. That defeats the point of a forum IMO. I think we should be able to delete our own content if we feel the need to (I'm struggling to think of a reason why but I'm sure there are valid ones), but by the same token people should be grownups and not just bin off all their content/entire threads to spite everyone else whilst in the throes of a tantrum. The way things are set currently should work to be fair, if we could all be trusted not to be dicks.
  26. No, but I am glad it is sold it was very tempting. Only a 1.4 and my 1.6 was dull, I always wanted a 2 LTR. Not taxed since 1988.
