  1. Past hour
  2. That sucks but you'll definitely get more than scrap money for it, no matter what, especially when it's still driving. It'll certainly break for more.
  3. will a heat gun bring them back to 'as new' colour? only ever seen the red & Yellow one
  4. chillin now tea and buns then less salubrious parts of hampshire - joke @Stanky
  5. While waiting for glue to dry on the MAN I’ve been putting the ex 007 partwork Ford Econoline Club Wagon back together. Just got a few bits to touch in by hand - door handles etc then make a pair of tail lights as they broke getting them out. Im pretty pleased with this one! I wouldn’t mind finding another and doing it as the panel van version with less chrome.
  6. Today
  7. Alrighty then, let's start with the largest car and work down 924 Turbo is a radio controlled unit by that well known brand Super Radio Tron(?) No controller but for £2 I'm happy with it Next down, but far more impressive is this Bburago Rolls-Royce Camargue. I need to line this up with the Play Art effort I mean, proper branded Avon tyres? Love it Corgitronics Maestro can be yours for just £2 if you desire This was rather expensive from a dealer who also had the Roller. Never seen one in the metal before though Side profile is somewhat cartoon-like, reminds me of Mr. Incredible's car Found a couple of Playarts Matchbox Renault taxi Batboat for 50p, yes please Entertainer had another 4 or 5 boxes in, nabbed this Audi They also had new Matchbox, seen the mix before but don't remember clocking the new Defender Saw this in Oxfam, don't recognise the brand. Looked like a 1:18 Bburago Finally, this was in Smyths and I was meant to alert @Spottedlaurel but I forgot!
  8. Like everything it has pluses and negatives , my job is 50% desk 50% physical so it keeps me interested , which company are you are starting with
  9. I think I'll probably look at getting new seats sometime if any cheap ones come up. I don't have any doubt that disabling the passenger detection mat will still make all the airbags fire (my wife or me will be sitting there after all). But the passenger side is missing it's back board which annoys the heck out of me. I actually really like the rental car spec fabric seats in convertibles as they wick away sweat rather than sitting on the surface. However I've never seen fabric seats on any Z4 before. Must be incredibly rare. As the weather is so stonking nice today, I made an effort to put the car back together. So I popped the resistor pack in to test that the fan now works properly. Then put the case on. The crimp contacts I cleaned the insides of with contact cleaner and a set of carb jet cleaner wire. It all works fine but I'm not convinced the contacts will not fail again. However it does prove the resistor pack does work before permanently soldering it in. I hoovered the pollen filter area out as much as I could. I have a new filter coming but it's not arrived yet. So hoovered the old one out and stuffed it back in as a short term measure. I don't want leaves and other crap to jam that fan up. Gave the interior a good hoover out and wipe down with interior cleaner. Then took it for a spin. Don't be fooled by the photo making it look tidy. Definitely a 10 footer car and stuff like this is noticeable closer up. Anyway gave it a quick blast then probed the discs for their temperature. Rear left (new caliper) Rear right Fronts were both 62c. Hmm. That rear left is still much hotter than I'd like with quite a temperature difference. Could either be it's braking better than the other side or the flex pipe is causing a flow restriction. I did jack each side up and they still both spin freely and about the same. I think I need to put some more miles on it first and let the pads bed in a bit before doing much more. I do suspect the pipe might be causing a bit of restriction too and compounding the issue it had. Right now though as the wheel still spins when in the air with not a lot of drag, I think I'll just put some more miles on before going further.
  10. Never mind that, looks like the 124 may be being weighed in. Exhaust gases leaving via the cooling system.. with no history and unknown how long the HG may have been dodged for, its probably not worth spending the time and money on.
  11. Also, in honour of the fact I chose to put the money and time into it, rather than any other option, I decided to splash out on a dealer sticker for the rear window. This wasn't the original supplying dealer, but they re-sold it in the early noughties, and Haywards Heath is where I bought it from @garycox four years ago, so it seemed appropriate.
  12. I’ve not used the disco since last weekend. Today went to get two new tyres for the rear. Then went up to my unit to pick some stuff up. From my unit I went to a Landrover parts shop about 10 miles away to pick up another ball joint for the front. While I was discussing the impending doom of owning a Landrover with the shop owner, I noticed a dark pool under the rear of the disco. Knowing full well that MANY landrovers park here, it must be someone else from earlier. Only to my disappointment as I walked back to it that the rear of the disco was covered top to bottom in fuel. And it was pouring out with the engine running. Pipe must have ruptured on my way from my unit to the shop, as it was dry when I left. unfortunate? Yes. Rang the AA, who turned up 15 minutes later. The shop owner, fluent in discovery ailments said it’ll be the fuel pipe from tank to filter. And sold me the pipe. AA man didn’t want to drop the tank in the car park, which is FULL, so a bloke turned up and offered to replace it in the workshop on Sunday. Took the big yellow taxi home.
  13. Went to Asda (about 6 miles away) for a test run in the Maestro with Master Grogee as co-pilot. Parked up and thought, "safety first, let's get the crook lock on". As I clicked it on I realised I have the wrong set of keys which don't have the crook lock key... So we're waiting for @Cluffyto rescue me, he's popped into our house to get the correct set of keys. Here's Master Grogee attempting to 'pick' the lock, and a bonus 5c3n3 VW Golf in the Asda car park.
  14. Nearly 70 years old (design) and it still looks like something from the future.
  15. On my old mk5 transit the belt went and bent the pushrods and I reckon a lot are sacrificially designed for the rockers to pop as much easier to do. The old tranny just had a new belt the rods straightened in the vice. Good luck in the new venture and if you are considering selling the sister on let me know. Gzongenflatch
  16. Nowadays all Leyland is really is another PACCAR factory. All LFs and CF65s (i.e. everything with a Cummins engine) are made in Leyland, and as are RHD larger CFs and XFs or whatever it's called these days. However most of the parts come from abroad so it's really just an assembly site.
  17. Ghia X with beige leather 😍 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/156174399447
